Exclusive: Freestyle Digital Media has found its next starry acquisition in The Winter House, a romantic thriller starring Lili Taylor (Mystic Pizza) and François Arnaud (The Borgias) that it will release on digital platforms October 13th.
Written and directed by Keith Boynton, the film tells the story of a female novelist who encounters a mysterious young drifter when she rents a remote lakeside cabin for the winter.
Eileen (Taylor) is grieving and needs to get away, so she rents a house in a remote corner of New Hampshire, in the dead of winter, where no one is likely to bother her. The Napa Valley Film Festival has announced its line-up for this year’s virtual festival format.
The annual festival will take place over the course of five days from Nov. 10-14 and showcase over fifty narrative, documentary and short films. Many screenings will also include exclusive Q&As and introductions from the filmmakers.
“We are thrilled to present another eclectic program of highly-curated narrative and documentary films to kick-off this year’s festival,” said Cinema Napa Valley chairman Rick Garber in a statement. “In addition, we’re excited to integrate several post-screening conversations with artists to discuss their work, showcasing their artistry and craft. We’re also continuing our Celebrity Tribute tradition and are eager to announce this year’s slate of deserving honorees in the coming days.”
The festival also plans to announce its Celebrity Tribute honorees next week. The organization hopes to return to an in-person format next year.

The festival will take place September 29 to October 3 in three Hudson Valley communities about two hours north of New York City. In-person screenings and events will be featured throughout the fest’s five days, but online options will also enable attendees to connect amid the ongoing challenges of Covid-19.

Pixar employee Timothy Hahn and Brooklyn-based director Keith Boynton created an animated music video for Darlingside's song "The Ancestor." Despite being only a few minutes long, the visually stunning short/music video manages to chart one man's journey from death into the afterlife and beyond - exploring ideas of love, loss and rebirth. The song and the video mutually benefit one another; while the Darlingside song's sound and lyrics bring life to Hahn and Boynton's creation, the picture that the video paints allows the underlying themes of the song to shine. Hahn, who produced the video, is now able to tack "The Ancestor" onto his list of credits, which includes working as script coordinator on "Small Fry," a "Toy Story" short, and as production coordinator on "Air Mater," a "Cars" short, both in 2011.
