*there are spoilers here. Director: Jared Cohn. Writers: Geoff Meed and Kenny Zinn. Cast: Katrina Bowden, Randy Wayne, Erin Marie Hogan, Steve Hanks, Brad Slaughter, Seth Cassell, Darin Cooper, Jordan Pratt-Thatcher and Lisa Younger. Hold Your Breath, or for those in the Twitterverse #HoldYourBreath, is remarkable for being one of the first films to premiere in theatres from production company The Asylum. As a horror film, Hold Your Breath is not truly remarkable in itself. However, the film is still a fun watch, despite some moronic characters. Is having sex in a morgue really a good idea? The film's ending stands out for offering some interesting suspense, while the film's supernatural rules ground the film in a dramatic reality. Hold Your Breath is a popcorn movie that will entertain most horror fans. The story begins with seven characters heading out on the proverbial camping trip. Johnny (Randy Wayne), Jerry (Katrina Bowden...

30 Rock’s brilliant Katrina Bowden has been using her off-seasons in recent years brilliantly, starring in instant-cult-classic horror-comedy Tucker and Dale vs. Evil back in 2010 alongside Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine.
She was seen earlier this year in Piranha 3Dd, and has two more horror films on the horizon – Nurse 3-D and #HoldYourBreath. The first trailer for the second has now debuted over at Apple, giving us a good look at Bowden in the lead as part of the horror ensemble.
“Based on the urban myth that you can breathe in evil spirits when passing cemeteries, #Holdyourbreath follows seven friends embarking on a weekend camping trip who pass a run-down cemetery and find themselves arguing about the legitimacy of the urban myth. When one friend refuses to hold his breath while passing by, he finds himself the unwitting host to a notorious serial killer who jumps from body to body...

Director/Writer: Keith Kurlander.
Cast: Lisa Younger, Jared Vandenberg and Dennis Woodruff.
With a full title like Cold Creepy Feeling Paranormal Exorcism to describe a movie, some supernatural enthusiasts may well wonder if this product is a farce. Who would even consider using a long description like that? How can such a product even consider itself to be taken seriously?
This movie has the feel of being made for a late-night television market and it may very well be an experimental product. A search of writer and director Keith Kurlander’s background reveals that most of his training is indeed with television. This motion picture might have been a pet project that he made out of his pocket with the help of an investor or two.
As ambitious as Kurlander is in wanting to contribute to the whole haunted house genre, his idea does not get anywhere close to being scary.

There's a chill in the air. Something's just not right. Yep, it's dipped below 50 degrees here in sunny California! Sorry, can't resist mocking the weather of my Northeastern friends. Anyway, the aforementioned unsettling weirdness I am referring to is the release of a new flick called Cold Creepy Feeling: Paranormal Exorcism to DVD.
Written and directed by Keith Kurlander, the flick stars Jared Vandenberg, Dennis Woodruff, Lisa Younger, and Alex Damiano. Look for it in stores on January 24th.
Synopsis
A young couple, Lisa Younger and Jared Vandenberg, escape the Los Angeles rat race for the quiet life in Joshua Tree, California, but paranormal visions and voices quickly turn the house of their dreams into a house of nightmares. They enlist the help of a spiritualist, Alex Damiano, to exorcise the premises, but this only awakens and angers the demonic presence that lurks within. When the town Sheriff, Dennis Woodruff,...

Another Earth (12A)
(Mike Cahill, 2011, Us) Brit Marling, William Mapother, Matthew-Lee Erlbach. 92 mins
It's been quite a year for cosmic arthouse, and like The Tree Of Life and Melancholia, this low-key indie contrasts inner and outer space to stirring effect. Unlike a Kubrick-style space odyssey, it's very much down to earth – Earth One, that is. "Earth Two", a duplicate of our own, is more like a giant metaphor in the sky. Its discovery tragically fuses the lives of two people, and could yet resolve it, which makes for a tender character drama with a shot of sci-fi ingenuity.
Puss In Boots (U)
(Chris Miller, 2011, Us) Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis. 90 mins
Between the Shrek brand recognition, the bright 3D, the broad-spectrum comedy and the prospect of cute cats dancing, it's hard to imagine a more mercilessly commercial proposition than this animated spin-off. It's a predictably polished affair, with Banderas's...

Hide From director Jamison Brandi comes Hide starring Lisa Younger (The Wrong Way), James C. Burns (Lake Dead) and Matt O' Neill (365 Days). I have to say when I saw the initial plot synopsis, I got really excited as it combined to of my favorite horror film tangents that will usually ensure a successful horror movie - Halloween and a game of hide and seek. Just look at how well John Carpenter's Halloween scored with the holiday. Or look at how successful Hide and Seek, starring Robert De Niro, was at the box office utilizing the beloved children's game.
In Hide, Chesterfield High School basketball practice has ended. One year later the town is still reeling from the massacre of a brutal mischief night murder, but even the statewide curfew won't stop these teens from pulling pranks on Hallow's Eve. Susie Hauser, head cheerleader along with her teenage friends...
