She was discovered by photographer Patrick Demarchelier, following earning her university degree from Villanova University's School of Business. She left her fashion career to become an inner city schoolteacher, for she was featured on CNN World News. An artist, Katherine developed a series of decorative arts and custom jewelry work during this time which was featured in a show at gallery in Barcelona, Spain.
Katherine has founded a namesake jewelry line and chocolate business of the philosophy of ethical luxury, and works with farmers and artisans in developing nations and a war zone to realize her designs and bring them to the developed marketplace. She has been a stylist, having styled the cover of L'Officiel magazine with solely sustainable goods, and her work has been featured on the cover of Elle magazine.
