The CEO of Bellator Mma wants nothing to do with disgraced Ufc fighter Rousimar Palhares -- telling us the Ufc's decision to fire him this week was spot on. In case you missed it ... Palhares was axed less than 24 hours after his Wednesday night fight against Mike Pierce at Fight Night 29 in Brazil -- where R.P. held onto an ankle lock way after the bell rang, for the second time in his Ufc career.

Ariel Helwani has just reported that Joey Beltran and Rousimar Palhares both tested positive for illegal substances in their fights back in December. Palhares faced off against Hector Lombard (32-3-1) and lost in the first round due to a Tko.
The failed test has only served to further the bad blood between the two fighters. Prior to the fight, Toquinho promised to break Lombard’s leg even if his opponent tapped. The Brazilian fighter has a long history of holding his dangerous ankle and leg locks after the fight or match has been decided, sending several Ufc and grappling opponents to the hospital for months of recovery. Even after his loss, Toquinho continued to talk saying the only reason he lost was because he broke his foot on a checked low kick by Lombard.
Palhares had already been knocked down once with a flurry by Lombard before the foot was broken at 1:38 remaining.

What an action-packed weekend. There were two Ufc events to cap two different Ultimate Fighter seasons – one on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia and the other in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Ultimate Fighter: Smashes was first with the Ufc on FX: Sotiropoulos vs. Pearson. My co-host, English Thom, joins me on the Getting Lucky Mma podcast to shamelessly gloat over the dominance of the Brits over the Aussies throughout the season and the spectacular Tko of Ross Pearson (14-4) over Aussie coach, George Sotiropoulos (14-5).
In addition, we saw Norman Parke (17-2) overcome fellow British team member Colin Fletcher (8-2) in the Lightweight Finale as well as Robert Whittaker (10-2) defeat Brad Scott (8-2), both via unanimous decision. The Whittaker-Scott fight was clearly the fight of the night, though the award and bonus money was given to a fight on the undercard.

The Ufc’s sixth offering on FX, scheduled for 15th December 2012, is starting to take shape with confirmation of a Lightweight bout between the UK’s Ross Pearson and Australian jiu jitsu standout George Sotiropoulos.
Mma Junkie have reported that the show will take place in Australia although a City and venue are still to be confirmed. The card will also feature a Middleweight clash between former Bellator World Champion Hector Lombard and Rousimar Palhares.
Pearson and Sotiropoulos have been opposing Coaches in the recently filmed Tuf series “The Smashes” which debuts 19th September on FX in Australia. The show, which has been billed as the UK Vs Australia, can also be viewed on tuf.tv for the rest of the World.
Sotiropoulos, who originally comes from Geelong, Victoria, will most likely enjoy a huge hometown advantage with the crowd on his side, as the bout against Ross Pearson takes...
