Aleksandr Viken is a Soviet and Ukrainian animator, director and screenwriter. Honored Art Worker of Ukraine.
Viken graduated from the courses of animators at the Kievnauchfilm studio in 1965 and began working there as an animator. In the late 1970s, together with other young animators, he participated in the creation of "underground" cartoons by Aleksandr Tatarskiy "By the way about birds" in a specially created animation group at the Kiev Palace of Pioneers.
In 1981 he graduated from the Kiev State Institute of Culture named after Korneychuk.
The most famous animated films directed by Aleksandr Viken are How Petya Pyatochkin Counted Little Elephants (1984) and Desperate Cat Vaska (1985).
