Hanukkah will be part of A Christmas Story Live!, Fox’s upcoming live musical event.
“They’ve written a really fun Hanukkah number. The music is fantastic,” Ana Gasteyer told Et at the Double Standards concert in New York City on Sunday benefiting women's rights, health and empowerment. “Even though A Christmas Story is clearly a Christmas story -- it’s fun to have a Hanukkah song join the ranks of the Christmas songs in the musical. I think everybody felt like it can really be a holiday experience.”
The Saturday Night Live alum will play Mrs. Schwartz in the production, inspired by the 1983 holiday classic feature film A Christmas Story and Ben Pasek and Justin Paul’s 2012 Broadway adaptation. Even after Season 1, it was clear “The Detour” was a deceptive title. Though Nate Parker’s seemingly impulsive but truly diabolical decision to drive (rather than fly) the family from Syracuse, New York to Florida pushed the exceedingly wild story forward, the altered route wasn’t really the focus of a family comedy unraveling more mysteries than most soap operas. Independent film veteran Ira Deutchman has received the first annual Spotlight Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in the distribution and exhibition of independent films. The award was created by advertising company Spotlight Cinema Networks in partnership with the Art House Convergence.

So here’s the premise – a guy and his best friend are down on their luck, struggling to pay rent, and looking for a new means of income. One of the chums hears that sexual services are in demand, he recommends the other fellow, and they become a pimp and gigolo team sweeping New York City. Sounds like perfect fodder for two young funnymen like Jonah Hill as the pimp and Channing Tatum as the gigolo, right? Ha, you couldn’t be more wrong. Try imagining Woody Allen as the pimp and John Turturro as the gigolo, and then wrap your mind around Sofía Vergara and Sharon Stone paying Turturro for a time-restricted session of love-making.
