Dan Howell is bringing the “ultimate version” of his live comedy stage show We’re All Doomed! to the internet Feb. 25.
Howell–who recently returned to making videos with longtime creative partner Phil Lester on their shared YouTube channel DanAndPhilGAMES–took We’re All Doomed! on more than 80 tour stops across the U.S., U.K., Australia, and New Zealand in 2022 and 2023.
But he knew that even with all those stops, he couldn’t accommodate every one of his fans who wanted to see him live.
So, he’s decided to cap it all off with the livestreamed version, which will air on Kiswe (the interactive streaming platform that’s worked with creators like Smosh and Rhett & Link) Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. Eastern, and be available to audiences around the world for $14.99. Howell will be hanging out in text chat during the stream, and will host a viewer Q...

Yesterday morning, Phil Lester tweeted a mysterious invitation calling all the internet to join him and Dan Howell on YouTube that evening. Phan theories instantly ran wild.
And they had a good reason to.
DanAndPhilGAMES is officially back.
For those who weren’t around for that particular chapter of YouTube history, here’s the tl;dr: Beginning in 2018, Howell and Lester regularly uploaded videos to their shared gaming channel. Many of the 279 uploads focused on their Sims game, where their digital child Dil had extensive lore and a rich, often chaotic life. The channel spawned a major fanbase and racked up hundreds of millions of views.
Then, in December 2018, DanAndPhilGAMES went silent. Both Howell and Lester took a creative break, with Howell especially quiet through June 2019, when he posted a video on his personal channel coming out as “basically” gay. (Lester followed with his own coming out video a month later.

In the mid-2010s, Dan Howell seemed to have it all. He and fellow creator Phil Lester comprised the duo known as Dan & Phil, and their shared star seemed to have no limits. They hosted their own BBC radio show. They launched an app. They went on tour several times. Then, in 2019, two things happened. Howell came […]

It was a week filled with wheeling and dealing, as new pacts to build, merge, spin-off and create were announced by real-world and digital entities. There was also a pause to remember Robert Freeman, who photographed some of the early and influential Beatles albums.
This week in music:
BMG Builds Out La Presence: BMG will develop a new full-service music facility in Los Angeles. The location will be a 30,000-square-foot space at 5670 Wilshire Blvd, just seven blocks east from BMG’s current facility at 6100 Wilshire Blvd. BMG currently employs around 135 staff in Los Angeles with plans for further expansion in the new year. The move continues the company’s expansion, which also is taking place in Nashville and New York. The new space will consolidate BMG’s west coast publishing and recording teams, together with synch and licensing, film and books, and BMG Production Music.

Roughly two weeks after his frequentcreative collaborator Daniel Howell came out as gay in a scorching, 45-minute vlog complete with five different chapters, Phil Lester has taken a decidedly breezier approach to his own coming out video -- aptly titled Coming Out To You, which he released yesterday, the final day of Pride Month.
In Howell's video, he hinted that he and Lester -- who have collaborated on mobile games, tours, tour documentaries, and countless YouTube videos -- “were more than friends,” given that there has been much feverish speculation about their relationship over the years. But this is Lester’s first proclamation on his sexuality. That's because his channel -- which counts subscribers 4.2 million subscribers -- is primarily dedicated to entertaining viewers rather than updating them on his personal life. But “hopefully,” Lester says, “my story will help some of you.”

Daniel Howell, the massively popular U.K. vlogger, announced yesterday that he’s “basically” gay in a 45-minute video with five chapters -- in which he discusses coming to terms with his sexuality over the years despite countless roadblocks. The video has been viewed roughly 4 million times in 24 hours, and remains at the No. 1 spot on YouTube’s trending tab, above a new single from Taylor Swift.
It’s been almost exactly a year since year-old Howell has uploaded a video on his flagship channel, which counts 6.5 million subscribers, though he has appeared in clips alongside frequent collaborator Phil Lester on their joint gaming channel. Howell and Lester’s relationship has long been subject to romantic speculation -- a fact Howell also addresses in his coming out video.
Howell said that he initially intended to release the video last June, as he wanted it to drop during Pride Month, though...

YouTube duo Dan Howell and Phil Lester have officially joined the Featured Creators roster for this year’s VidCon.
Howell and Lester, who’ve made a name for themselves as YouTube’s preeminent introverts, each have their own channel as well as a shared channel, DanAndPhilGAMES (3.1 million). Collectively, they earn tens of millions of views each month. In 2016, Howell and Lester’s first live tour was one of the largest ever undertaken by YouTubers, and was so popular it ended up generating a YouTube Premium-produced documentary.
At VidCon, which runs July 10 to 13, the duo will interact with fans in a joint meet-and-greet session on July 13 in the event’s Instagram Meet & Greet Hall.
They’re also each attending individual events. Lester will participate in a Q&A session July 12, and Howell will attend VidCon’s annual Night of Awesome, a closeout bash where Featured Creators perform onstage for the convention’s attendees.

As year-end best-of list season ushers in, microblogging platform Tumblr has unveiled the web celebs and series that were the most popular among its community in 2018, as part of the platform's annual Year In Review.
Tumblr compiles that venture by examining thousands of lines of data, it says, scouring popular tags and then ranking them according to search frequency as well as the total number of original posts, reblogs, and likes. The company calls this rating technique ‘Fandometrics’.
Gamers have massive sway on Tumblr, with the top two spots on the 'Web Celebrities' list (see below) being filled by U.K. vlogger Sean 'Jacksepticeye' McLoughlin and Mark 'Markiplier' Fischbach, respectively. And while McLoughlin and Fischbach recently teamed together on a clothing line called Cloak, the third and fourth spots on the list also belong to frequent collaborators Daniel Howell and Phil Lester. BBC Studios has launched TalentWorks, a new content label aimed at identifying digital talent with whom it can partner to develop new content and IP. The label’s first project will be a collaboration with YouTube stars Dan Howell and Phil Lester on a broadcast version of the pair’s live show, “Interactive Introverts,” which launches globally on iTunes Nov. 19.
TalentWorks will be headed by Paul Hembury and Helen O’Donnell, the director of talent and head of development, respectively, at BBC Studios’ U.K. division. The pair has a history of creating and launching new content with top British digital stars, including Joe Sugg, Caspar Lee, DanTDM, Joe Wicks, and Sam and Nic Chapman.
“Helen and I have had phenomenal breakthrough success with our digital partnerships, and that is only the tip of the iceberg of what we hope to achieve,” said Hembury.

YouTube’s favorite duo of self-proclaimed introverts, Dan Howell and Phil Lester, are gearing up to unleash a film about their recently-concluded 2018 global tour, appropriately named Interactive Introverts.
The pair — whose combined YouTube channel DanAndPhilGAMES has 3.1 million subscribers and an average monthly view count in the tens of millions — said on an Instagram Story that editing of the film is complete, and that they’ve recorded a director’s commentary that is “two straight hours of behind-the-scenes bants,” We the Unicorns reports.
Interactive Introverts was one of the largest YouTuber tours ever, with 80 dates in 18 countries. It ran from April 28 to Sept. 13, and one of its primary features involved Howell and Lester reacting to fan-submitted content — thus, the ‘interactive’ portion of the tour’s name.
But that wasn't Howell and Lester's first entree in the massive live tour circuit, nor is the upcoming Interactive Introverts movie their first tour film.
