The wrong AirBnB can make all the difference — especially when it leads to a deadly case of mistaken identity.
Kevin Hart stars as a bumbling sales consultant who checks into the wrong holiday rental cabin in Netflix’s comedy of errors “The Man from Toronto.” When Hart walks in on a torture chamber, he quickly has to pretend to be the eponymous assassin from Toronto to save his own life. Yet the CIA wants him to stay undercover to help them find the real Man from Toronto, who is none other than Woody Harrelson.
The buddy comedy continues as Harrelson trains Hart to be him, and Hart has to decide whether or not to turn the Man from Toronto in to the feds. “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” director Patrick Hughes helms the Netflix film, streaming June 24.

"The clients want you both dead." Netflix has revealed the first official trailer for an action comedy called The Man From Toronto, which was originally a studio production at Sony / Columbia Pictures. They sold it off to Netflix to debut this streaming instead of in theaters nationwide. This is now opening at the end of the month on Netflix. A case of mistaken identity arises after a screw-up sales consultant and the world’s deadliest assassin — known only as "The Man from Toronto" — get mixed up at an Airbnb rental. Starring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson as the two that must team up, along with Kaley Cuoco, Jasmine Mathews, Lela Loren, Pierson Fodé as "The Man From Miami" another assassin, Jencarlos Canela, and Ellen Barkin. Doesn't look entirely original, but it does seem like buddy comedy fun. Harrelson is the strongest performance here, though the humor between him & Hart is...

Netflix has picked up the worldwide rights, excluding China, to Sony’s action comedy “The Man From Toronto,” moving it from theatrical release to streaming as part of the first-look deal between the two studios.
The film stars Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson in a mix-up comedy in which a New York City screw-up is mistaken for the world’s deadliest assassin at an Airbnb rental apartment. It had previously been scheduled for theatrical release on August 12.
Patrick Hughes (“The Hitman’s Bodyguard”) directed the film from a screenplay by Robbie Fox and Chris Bremner. Kaley Cuoco, Jasmine Mathews, Lela Loren, Pierson Fode, Jencarlos Canela and Ellen Barkin also star with Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch producing. Bill Bannerman, Aaron L. Gilbert and Jason Cloth are executive producers.
As the sole major studio in Hollywood without an in-house streaming service, Sony signed a first-look deal in April 2021 making Netflix its main streaming partner.

Netflix has acquired worldwide rights to Sony Pictures’ action-comedy The Man from Toronto, starring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson, Deadline can confirm. The film previously scheduled for release in theaters on August 12 will now bow on the streamer in all territories apart from China (where Sony continues to control all rights) later this year. Sony will also retain home entertainment and linear TV windows.
The Man from Toronto watches as the world’s deadliest assassin (Harrelson) and New York’s biggest screw-up, Teddy (Hart), are mistaken for one another at an Airbnb rental. The acquisition stems from the deal Sony entered into with Netflix last year, which has given the streamer first-look at its direct-to-streaming movies. Also factoring into the calculus for the move was Netflix’s mega deal and relationship with Hart.
3000 Pictures’ Lady Chatterley’s Lover, starring Emma Corrin, Jack O’Connell and Matthew Duckett, was the first film announced under the Sony-Netflix first-look partnership,...

Leaving behind palatial Spain of the early 1900s for modern-day Miami, Executive Producer Brian Tanen’s American adaptation of the internationally popular Spanish series “Gran Hotel” retains key plot elements while transforming the concept into a glamorous Latinx-fronted project.
In essence, this reinterpretation, also executive produced by Eva Longoria (who plays a small part) is still a murder mystery set inside a family-owned hotel where a determined young man searches for clues to unearth what happened to his missing sister; however, in this version, certain historically-tied conflicts were replaced with more currently relevant scenarios in the context of the United States.
A significant source of drama in the original show was the matriarch’s insistence in her daughter Alicia marrying a wealthy gentleman in hopes of saving the financially strapped property. This 2019 Alicia (played by Salvadoran-American actress Denyse Tontz) isn’t facing arranged marriage, but is nevertheless tasked with helping...

For weeks, Fox has been promoting their two-hour live musical event The Passion, but portions of the special telecast were indeed pre-recorded because of logistical reasons. Some of the set locations were too far apart for the actors to realistically make it to their next scene during the course of a commercial break. But the cross procession and stage performances of contemporary hits are performed live."Fox cast primarily singers with acting backgrounds and 98 percent of The Passion is sung," Jencarlos Canela - who plays Jesus Christ - tells People. "All of us are used to the live performance in front of an audience.
