William Victor Salas
William Victor Salas purchased, restored, and donated two lost Tom Mix
films to the American Film Institute in Washington, D.C. They were;
"The Man from Texas" 1915 and "The Sheriff and the Rustler" 1913. IMDb
notes for the 1915 film were taken from a 1926 re-release of Selig
Ployscope Company films. The original 1915 "Man from Texas" was only a
one reel film running about 15 minutes. The re-release was 34 minutes.
William Victor Salas shot most of the live footage on "Metallimania"
release. It was originally made as an "in house" film for the band and
crew. It soon became a cult underground bootleg. Eventually the
filmmakers asked Metallica for permission to release the footage on
home video. William Victor Salas has provided footage used for the
first home video release of the Smashing Pumpkins (un-credited).
