Jon Licht is a composer, singer/songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist.
At the age of 21 Jon began his career as a composer assisting his late uncle, award winner composer Daniel Licht (Dexter, Dishonored, Silent Hill). Over the next 12 years he learned the trade, especially how music could be used to elevate visual media. Jon worked closely with Daniel, contributing music to numerous film, TV and video game projects such as Modern Family, Body of Proof and two installments from the Silent Hill video game franchise. Most notably Jon composed score and original songs for all eight seasons of Showtime's Dexter.
Jon's unique entrance into the world of film scoring and his background as a singer/songwriter and producer has helped him create unique and powerful music for many other projects beyond his work on the Golden Globe & Emmy winning series Dexter. In 2018 Jon composed the original score (with composer Nicholas Marquis) for hit indie video game We Happy Few-Jon scoring the cut scenes and Marquis the in-game music. In 2019 he completed his fourth feature film, Fake Empire, that marked his third collaboration with writer/director Brandon Willer.
In 2020 Licht collaborated with Nathaniel Walcott and Mike Mogis of Bright Eyes on the score for Paramount's The Stand starring Whoopi Goldberg, Alexander Skarsgård and James Marsden.
Jon has composed music for numerous Microsoft events including their biggest Microsoft Ready in Las Vegas. Most recently Jon composed the music for Microsoft's Surface Product reveal in which they launched their new line of AI powered Surface Pros.
