This January, Natasha fights off her demons in the new Black Widow #1, the action-packed new ongoing series from the creative team of Nathan Edmondson and Phil Noto.
Though she now walks a righteous path, Natasha’s past is paved with bloody memories. The death and destruction from her past as a Kgb assassin still haunts her – and she now seeks atonement for past sins. Atonement that will take her to the darkest corners of the Marvel Universe and beyond. And commit acts the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. would not approve of.
Deadly foes and lethal threats await around every turn – and the Black Widow stands alone. Don’t miss this new series that’s as gorgeous and dangerous as Natasha herself when Black Widow #1 is released this January!

Continuing the Marvel news from New York Comic-Con 2013, Marvel have announced another new series for their All-New Marvel Now! line-up in 2014, this time featuring the all-star creative team of Superior Spider-Man writer Dan Slott and Ff artist Mike Allred: Silver Surfer. Slott talked about the changes he’s brought to the character, notably the addition of a female companion for the cosmic herald:
“When you think of the Silver Surfer, you think of the lone sentinel of the skyways. He’s always very lonely on that board all by himself. And this is a book about a girl onboard … a kindred spirit who’s an Earth girl. And you’re going to find out the universe is more fun when you see it with someone.”
Also being released next year will be an Iron Patriot series from writer Ales Kot and artist Garry Brown where the Iron Man character...

Who is Jake Ellis? Looks like you're about to find out.
The Hollywood Reporter has the news that longtime "Harry Potter" director David Yates is attached to direct an adaptation of the comic book "Who is Jake Ellis?" for 20th Century Fox. The comic was written by Nathan Edmondson and illustrated by Tonci Zonjic, following the exploits of Jon, a mercenary on the lam, and his mysterious accomplice Jake Ellis, a man that only Jon can see.
"Who is Jake Ellis?" spawned a sequel, "Where is Jake Ellis?," with two issues remaining to be published.
According to THR's report, even with Yates attached, a writer is not in place for the film. The filmmaker is currently getting set to direct "Tarzan" at Warner Bros., with Alexander Skarsgard in the lead role and Chrisoph Waltz cast as the film's antagonist. Production begins early next year.

Though he’s busy gathering cast members and jungle friends for Warner Bros.’ new take on Tarzan, David Yates has also found time to track down other work besides pop-culture’s most famous loin cloth-sporting hero. He’s now attached to direct Who Is Jake Ellis?20th Century Fox nabbed the rights to Nathan Edmondson and Tonci Zonjic’s Image comic, which finds a former CIA mercenary named Jon Moore on the run. He’s protected by the mysterious titular man, who only Jon can apparently see but who boasts a superior knowledge of espionage that’s keeping him alive. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the story blends chunks of Bourne, Memento and, given the whole mystery angle around Jake, Fight Club. It’s early days for the project, and there isn't even a writer attached yet. Director David Yates hasn't been back behind the camera since 2011's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, his planned Tarzan movie shutting down due to budgetary concerns, but it appears as though the filmmaker his now ready to get back into the game with a new project. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that 20th Century Fox has picked up the rights to the comic series Who Is Jake Ellis? and have attached Ellis to serve as director. First published in 2011 and written by Nathan Edmondson with art by Tonci Zonjic, the comic follows a former CIA analyst named Jon Moore who, during his time with the agency, was the forced subject of illegal experiments related to extra sensory perception. The continued, escalating battle of Collector's Edition superiority continues, this time with Ubisoft offering a remote-controlled plane replica of the Paladin, a key location in "Splinter Cell: Blacklist." While a pair of night vision goggles would have been more appropriate (although it's been done before, I know), it's still a pretty cool bonus.
After the jump, find out what real life and digital goodies Ubisoft has in store for Sam Fisher's latest adventure.
You can find the full contents of the Collector's Edition below:
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist video game. Remote Control C-147B Paladin Aircraft: Command the air with a custom 3-channel, dual-engine aircraft modeled after the in-game Paladin mobile headquarters. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell® Echoes comic book: Limited 88-page graphic novel by Eisner-nominated comic book writer Nathan Edmondson and illustrator Marc Laming. Limited edition Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist poster. Exclusive Billionaire’s Yacht co-op map.
