The Dancing with the Stars ballroom will shine a bit brighter as the competition series dedicates an entire episode to the music of Whitney Houston. The vocalist and movie star, who has sold an astounding 220 million records worldwide, will be honored for her contributions to the music industry with an evening dedicated to her signature songs during season 32. But was she a fan of the show? Here are all the details.
Did Whitney Houston watch ‘Dancing with the Stars’?
Per a press release from Whitney Houston’s estate, the singing superstar was indeed a Dancing with the Stars fan. It read, “The estate of Whitney E. Houston and her family are honored that Dancing with the Stars is dedicating an episode of her signature songs for the show,” said Pat Houston, executor of the estate of Whitney E. Houston.

Former Dancing With the Stars pro Lacey Schwimmer, who appeared on the ABC competition series for six seasons, has been opening up about her time on the show and the hurtful comments she received at the time about her weight. Appearing on the latest episode of the Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans podcast, hosted by fellow DWTS alum Cheryl Burke, Schwimmer touched on upsetting remarks made by ex-dwts pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Louis van Amstel back in 2008. “First, no one should ever, ever discredit somebody based off of their appearance. I don’t care if you’re skinny, fat, whatever. Ugly face, busted teeth — I don’t care what you look like. It has nothing to do with your talent or ability or what you are hired to do,” Schwimmer said, per People. The pro dancer said that when she was on the show (from Season 7 to Season 13), it was...

How high can Joe go? Not very. Joe “Grocery Store Joe” Amabile has yet to break 20 points on “Dancing with the Stars,” and 59 percent of our readers don’t think he’ll ever do it no matter how long he remains on the show.
Through six dances in five weeks, Amabile has earned a 14, 17, 18, 18, 15 and 17 with Jenna Johnson. By advancing to Week 6, thanks to the non-elimination, he has tied Season 8’s Steve-o for going the furthest on the show without cracking 20 points. Steve-o and his partner Lacey Schwimmer were eliminated on Week 6 after scores of 17, 14, 15, 15, 18 and 16. So Joe could have the dubious record to himself if he survives Halloween Night.
See Which woman has the best chance of making the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ final 3?
The remaining 41 percent still believe Joe can do the minimum and nab a 20 before his time is done. Pity points? Maybe. But the judges haven...

Joe “Grocery Store Joe” Amabile put in one of his “better” performances on Monday’s “Dancing with the Stars,” but his “Ralph Breaks the Internet” jive still only scored a 17. The “Bachelorette” alum has yet to break the 20-point threshold, and at the rate he’s improving (read: not at all) and the power of Bachelor Nation, we may be in uncharted territory soon. How far will Joe go without hitting 2-0? Will he ever hit 20?
Through five weeks and six dances, Amabile and Jenna Johnson have scored a 14, 17, 18, 18, 15 and 17. Thanks to the non-elimination on Disney Night, he safely advanced to Week 6. He can take solace in the fact that he’s not the first person to get to Week 6 without cracking 20 points. The “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” cast is finally out — and we have thoughts. We’ve got six Olympians on deck — including three figure skaters — two basketball players, a baseball player and your requisite football player. It’s anyone’s game (pun intended) — or is it? Some of these folks have some obvious and not-so-obvious advantages over the others and in a shortened four-week season, that could mean a lot. So before anyone takes their first dance, let’s take a closer look at the cast.

‘Dancing with the Stars’ has seen 10 athletes lift the Mirrorball trophy and almost nearly as many athletes came thisclose to getting their hands on it. Nine athletes have finished in second place on the show — some of them even losing to fellow athletes. Some of these losses were expected, some were close calls, but which of these runners-up deserved the win the most?
Jerry Rice was the first athlete runner-up. The three-time Super Bowl champ and Anna Trebunskaya lost to Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke in Season 2. Rice and Trebunskaya had the third lowest score of the final three on finale night, but beat third-place finishers Stacy Keibler and Tony Dovolani with fan votes added in.

Out Big Brother alum Ragan Fox has posted an open letter to Big Brother‘s production team challenging CBS’ tendency to leave any bigotry on the cutting room floor, “Characters like Andy, Candice, Howard, and Helen are reduced to mere tokens when production fails to include micro-aggressions that they have to endure on a day-to-day basis. What’s the point of casting racial, ethnic, and sexual minorities if production’s going to edit out the racism, ethnic discrimination, and homophobia that these people encounter inside the house?”

We’re only starting to watch them on Teen Wolf but Charlie and Max Carver have joined the cast of HBO’s pilot The Leftovers, according to Deadline. Based on the novel by Tom Perrotta, the drama follows people left on earth after the Rapture with the Carvers playing a pair of happy-go-lucky identical twins.
Since it’s HBO, we can feel safe this won’t be going to waste.
In a surprising turn, TVLine broke the news that Paul Giamatti will appear in the fourth season of Downton Abbey as Cora‘s brother.
For a while there was a lot of worry about how TV networks and cable channels would deal with loss of ad revenue driven by declining viewership and DVR use (advertisers don’t usually pay for people who watch shows on their DVR) but Vulture breaks down the new ways networks pay for programming, using...

Fox has one of its better slates coming your way with the new season, especially if you take the midseason shows into account. Some of these shows may not jump out at you now as must-see, but some of them are going to take over, if I’m any judge anyway.
Clear showcase offerings Dads, Almost Human, and Us & Them are guaranteed to take off early. Almost Human has J.J. Abrams recognition to pull people in, though it looks to be a show that could flounder after a few episodes, even if I hope it doesn’t. The other two are going to become hits. Unfortunately, we have to wait until mid-season for the Gavin & Stacey remake.
Rake also looks like a winner, as long as the translation can be made to work as an Americanized product, and the show actually delivers what made the Australian original so brilliant.

Earlier this week, the photo-sharing site Instagram issued a new set of terms to put in effect January 16, causing serious backlash through Hollywood with several stars threatening to delete their accounts.

The friction stems from language used in the new terms, first spotted by The New York Times, which read: "To help us deliver interesting paid or sponsored content or promotions, you agree that a business or other entity may pay us to display your username, likeness, photos (along with any associated metadata), and/or actions you take, in connection with paid or sponsored content or promotions, without any compensation to you."
Today, Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom released a statement clarifying the objective of the new policy, writing, "Our intention in updating the terms was to communicate that we'd like to experiment with innovative advertising that feels appropriate on Instagram. Steve-o survived reality television and addiction, and now, life is but a song.
Born Stephen Glover, Steve-o first gained fame in 2000 for doing outrageous things on MTV's reality show "Jackass," which spawned three feature films.
His "Jackass" co-star Johnny Knoxville and other crew from the show later staged an intervention to help Steve-o recover from drug and alcohol abuse. After a stint in rehab, he became a vegan and now has been clean and sober since 2008.
In 2009, he went from reality host to reality-competition contestant, lasting six weeks on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" with professional partner Lacey Schwimmer. Then, in 2011, he released an autobiography, "Professional Idiot: A Memoir."
Now, rather than performing dangerous stunts and battling his own demons, Steve-o is instead challenging contestants to overcome their fear of singing a karaoke song while being put through hilarious and unexpected physical challenges.

It was a double elimination on "Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars" this week with Drew Lachey and Helio Castroneves going home.
"I can honestly say I would not change a thing," Season 2 champion Lachey said after finding out he was leaving the competition. Castroneves, another former "Dancing with the Stars" winner, said a series of thank you's before leaving the dance floor.
Kirstie Alley was the other "Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars" competitor in jeopardy, but her entertaining routine to "Moves Like Jagger," which involved her partner Maks Chmerkovski in a wig, was a hit with the viewers, keeping the actress in the competition for at least one more week.
The double elimination also means Lachey's partner Anna Trebunskaya and Castroneves' Chelsie Hightower are heading home.

Last week’s shocking departure of quick-stepping fave Joey Fatone left multitudes of Dancing With the Stars fans channeling their inner Tina Turners and asking, “What’s dancing got to do with it?”
Subsequently, DWTS‘ Week 3 results telecast left many of us tense with newfound apprehension. What’s the deal with the Season 15 All-Stars shenanigans? Were we in for another head-scratching elimination of a high scoring (but apparently low-in-popularity) celeb? Or should I say celebs, because holy heave-ho, tonight was double elimination night!

Joey Fatone was eliminated on "Dancing With The Stars: All-Stars" in the season's second week.
Two former champions, Helio Castroneves and Kelly Monaco, were also in bottom. During this week's "Dancing With The Stars: All-Stars" performance episode, Fatone, a former member of *Nsync, did a '20s-inspired quickstep. The judges said he captured the "magic" of the movies during the Roaring Twenties.
Fatone's elimination came after an hour-long special in which the judges picked their favorite dances from each all-star during their previous seasons. Then, it was revealed that in addition to Fatone and his partner Kym Johnson, Castroneves and his partner Chelsie Hightower were in jeopardy as was Monaco and her partner Val Chmerkosvksiy.
Surprisingly, Bristol Palin, who earned a mere 18 for her performance on Monday night, was safe, thanks to audience votes.

Good morning and Tgif!
Sorry there was no Brew yesterday. I was on a plane and there was No Wifi. Can you believe that? The airline shall remain nameless but it was pretty tragic. But not as tragic as last night's Grey's Anatomy. Sniff.
Anyway, I'm here and queer for you. Let's talk about lesbians!
Rebel Wilson talked with the The Advocate about the time she played gay in a movie.
Yeah, in A Few Best Men I play a lesbian character. I played the lesbian sister of the bride who ends up kissing a dude at the end, but she was like a full-on lesbian in that. And I beat out famous Australian lesbians for the role.

The talented Lacey Schwimmer was shocked when she returned to her dressing room in Las Vegas recently. Why do you ask? Probably because an unknown naked man was found getting into her shower!
The mystery man was apparently trying to take a shower in her dressing room while Schwimmer was performing on stage. Her and the rest of the cast are currently performing Dancing With The Stars: Live In Las Vegas. Schwimmer was obviously shook up after last night’s incident but still decided to go on stage and perform.
Schwimmer later tweeted, "Historically laughing at how bad today has been hahah!." At least she saw some humor in the situation.

She later told E! News, "I was very scared but the security at the Tropicana is doing an amazing job to ensure my safety!" The shower intruder has not been caught yet.

Poor Lacey Schwimmer made a pretty unwelcome discovery as she walked into her Las Vegas dressing room yesterday. The dancer’s in the city as a part of Dancing With the Stars: Live in Las Vegas, Fyi. And as she opened the door to her private — hear that security, private — space, she found a naked dude getting ready to go to the shower. Who this guy is, and more importantly, how he get in, is anyone’s guess. And this is just over two weeks after Tia Carrere found a thief in her dressing room, who made off with her purse! How are these people even getting backstage?
Lacey rushed out and it has been confirmed that she has filed a police report. We’re more interested to know where naked dude went? Did he rush out when he was discovered? Wouldn’t that have caused quite the stir?...
