On September 5th, Aew held arguably one of their best pay-per-views to date, All Out, which featured the in-ring return of former WWE Champion Cm Punk, the debut of Minoru Suzuki (more so a one-off), Ruby Soho, Adam Cole, and Bryan Danielson. It was a hot show capped off with an amazing moment. Since the company’s debut in 2019, All Elite Wrestling has constantly received high marks for its exciting storylines, fantastic matches, and incredible depth of its roster. However, there are a few issues that prevent Aew from truly being the best promotion in the world. Of course, financially,

Last month, I wrote how the renewed push — and quite frankly, the reinvention — of Randy Orton’s character could be a force that helps stem the tide of WWE’s faltering ratings and viewership numbers. That’s proven to not be the case, as Raw and SmackDown seem to hit dangerous new lows on a weekly basis.
But that doesn’t mean Orton’s push has been a total failure.
Last night we saw another chapter in the return of “the legend killer.” After a victory over Kevin Owens in Raw’s main event, Orton and Ric Flair, who had been serving as his manager for a few weeks, had an emotional moment in the ring. Orton was upset that Flair’s ego forced him to fight Kevin Owens in the first place. Flair cut one of the most emotional promos we’ve seen on WWE television in some time,...

Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dark, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Hardbody Harrison is in jail for life, because he’s an idiot…and an evil perv. The show has six matches, which includes a match from Brian Pillman Jr., who now has to thank the booker-man for this wonderful opportunity…to get Covid-19. Dark starts… I can’t believe you don’t shut-up!
Match #1: Shawn Spears def. Brian Pillman Jr.
My Opinion: 2.5 out of 5 – This should have been a much longer match, but for the one we got, this was still fun and tantalizing…like Lorraine Bracco…good for her. Bp did well, except for the oil spill, but what does a seagull know? You’ll see some nice mat work here, but it all felt too brief and secondary to Spears’s and his stupid glove. If you like a...
