The Houston Texans are taking steps to stop more fans from lighting their Matt Schaub jerseys on fire outside of their stadium -- but it ain't to protect the Qb's feelings. TMZ spoke with a member of the Texans organization who tells us ... the team decided it needed to take action after watching a viral YouTube video which featured a bunch of fans flaming up a #8 jersey in the stadium parking lot after the team...

Chris Brown made a surprise appearance at NFL Mvp’s ’All Day on the Runway’ celebrity fashion show on Saturday, Feb. 16, during NBA All-Star Weekend.
Minnesota Viking’s player, Adrian Peterson, is the founder of “All Day Foundation,” a program supporting several domestic violence prevention programs. He pulled out the big guns for the fashion show — held on Feb. 16, during NBA All-Star Weekend — which raised $50,000 for the generous foundation — and Chris Brown made a surprise appearance!
The Domestic Violence Charity Fashion Show
Many celebrities joined the Ad Elite girls’ basketball team to walk in the fashion show, including Jj Watt, Matt Schaub, Terrell Owens, Blake Griffin, Tramon Williams, Keyon Dooling and Robert Griffith.
When Chris, 23, showed up at the event, the audience was, understandably, surprised! However, Adrian had invited him to come meet the girls’ basketball team, where he posed for pictures with all of them, including Adrian’s girlfriend Ashley Brown.

Sunday Night Football on NBC Nov. 11 features one of the season’s best games as the 7-1 Houston Texans visit the 7-1 Chicago Bears. It’s irresistible force vs. immovable object at Soldier Field on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 8:20pm Et as the 7-1 Houston Texans visit the 7-1 Chicago Bears in what could be the best game of the season. The Texans’ prolific trio of quarterback Matt Schaub, running back Arian Foster and wide receiver Andre Johnson goes up against a Bears’ defensive unit that not only forces a lot of turnovers, but also takes them the other way for [...]...

We are heading into the second half of this year’s NFL season, and certain teams are beginning to separate themselves from the rest of the bunch. Last week, Lester thought the best three teams were:
1. Atlanta Falcons
2. Houston Texans
3. Chicago Bears
It’s easy to see how he came to that conclusion, but let’s see which teams have risen to the top this time round.
1. Atlanta Falcons
Their run game hasn’t been great, with Michael Turner rushing for just 415 yards, but with Ryan playing as well as he is, along with receivers such as Julio Jones, Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez, they haven’t had to rely on yards gained on the ground.
They have a pretty tough game against a solid Dallas defense this coming Sunday, but I fully expect them to still be undefeated when that game is over. Definitely the team to beat right now.

Just one change at the top this week. I can’t even give my We Got This Covered colleague, Dave Gilbert, that much grief for his NFL Cream Of The Crop picks he made for week 7. Despite losing some key defensive players, Dave moved the Baltimore Ravens up to third, a move that I can actually understand. But then they were smashed by the Houston Texans 43-13!
Oh well, better luck with the Bottom Of The Barrel post this week Dave…
For a recap, here’s how Mr. Gilbert had the Cream Of The Crop last week;
1. Atlanta Falcons
2. Houston Texans
3. Baltimore Ravens
And here’s how I see things this week.
1. Atlanta Falcons
Until the Falcons lose a game, I think they’ll stay atop our Power Rankings. Atlanta is 6-0, but they do have a tough test this Sunday as they travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles.

Well, the referees are back in full effect and the season is heading onto its second quarter. We have already seen some crazy upsets and some teams are playing better football than we expected, while others are playing much worse. So who are this week’s cream of the crop?
Last week, my fellow We Got This Covered writer, Lester Wiltfong had them ranked as follows:
1. Atlanta Falcons
2. Houston Texans
3. San Francisco 49ers
Let’s see if anyone has dropped out of that list, or maybe another team has found themselves moving into this week’s top three.
Here we go with my NFL cream of the crop heading into week five.
1. Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons are holding onto the top spot for the second week in a row. This past Sunday they came out on top in a close game against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers to take...

Oh yeah, this is going to be a fun NFL season.
Forget the fact the replacement refs are borderline goofballs and we never know what we’ll get from game to game with these guys, but so far the saying, ‘On any given Sunday’ really holds true. For the second week in a row our top team tastes defeat, and I can’t even give my colleague Dave Gilbert any grief because I would have had the 49ers on top too.
In case you’re new to this series, each week Mr. Gilbert and myself will be taking alternating looks at the top 3 teams in the NFL with our Cream Of The Crop series and the worst 3 teams in our Bottom Of The Barrel series.
As you can see, it’s my turn for the top 3, so here’s a recap on how Dave saw it last week.

The 2012 NFL Season kicks off this week so it’s the perfect time to put myself out there with some Afc Predictions for the division winners and wildcard teams. I had the chance to fully study every team during preseason, analyze how the rookies will fit in, and dissect all the important off season moves.
I’ll tackle the Afc predictions this time out and hit on the Nfc when we meet again. Dare I say, you can take these predictions to the bank!
Afc North
Baltimore Ravens - The Ravens made the playoffs the last 4 seasons, and won their division last year. They have as good a Head Coach / Gm combo as there is in the NFL. Joe Flacco is just a good enough quarterback to win with, as tailback Ray Rice can do the rest. The offense should be very good in 2012 but this being Baltimore it’s still all about the defense.

Just because you didn’t watch nine hours of football yesterday — or even nine seconds — is no excuse not to be prepared for the inevitable Monday-morning pigskin smalltalk in the office elevator, at the coffee machine, or heaven forbid, in some cheap motel room where you just woke up spooning with Steve Martin. (“See that Bears game last week?” “Yeah. Hell of a game. Hell of a game.” “Bears got a great team this year. They’re gonna go all the way.”)

Move over, Dogs Playing Poker (don’t actually move over, you’re great!) — here’s an equally appropriate dog painting. Click For Full Size: Ahh, there’s no better way to get into the fantasy football spirit! Well, a more accurate way might be screaming at Matt Schaub for throwing three touchdowns the week you benched him then realizing you’re physically yelling at an Espn box score of a Texans/Titans regular season game that you literally have zero interest in and you take a second to rethink your life and maybe join the Peace Corps so you go online to look for the Peace Corps website but you end up just editing your fantasy lineup for the following week and this song starts playing.
