At the border between art and science, Tyler Keillor, one of the nation's foremost paleoartists, interprets fossil evidence to create “flesh models” of dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. His modeling is often the public’s first look at a newly discovered species. Working with renowned paleontologist Paul Sereno at the University of Chicago Fossil Lab, Mr. Keillor comes up with innovative ways to represent the skin, feathers and lips of animals that died millions of years ago.
