Michael Jones is known as one of the Pioneers in Mobile Content. He has grown into an International Executive with a diversified record of success in international film distribution by focusing on untapped markets. Michael developed key partnerships across numerous telecoms in the Middle East & South East Asia via "white label" stores filled with thousands of hours of content.
In 2006 he joined a new startup venture called ROK Entertainment which was backed by Jonathan Kendrick and Billionaire John Paul Dejoria of Paul Mitchell and Patron Tequila. Over the next decade Michael began to focus on the telecommunications world by providing mobile television to network providers around the world. In 2007 Michael streamed the world's first live music concert over mass-market 2.5G via GPRS to mobile and was streamed across a 4 hour period live & exclusive to mobile operator AIS in Thailand. Due to the success in Thailand it led to the formation of ROK TV. November of 2007 Michael was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of ROK Entertainment (Public Company). ROK TV was the deployed in over 50 countries by 2013. Partners included China mobile, AIS Thailand, Telenor in Pakistan, American Movil in Latin America, Celcom in Malaysia, and the world's first free tv mobile service offered globally called Freebe tv. In October of 2011, Michael deployed the first ever Mobile Homeland Security application for the city of Los Angeles at the Coliseum.
In 2012 Michael joined IPA Asia Pacific which focused on acquiring distribution rights for films and television series for it's JV partners in the region. IPA is an approved Licensee for Universal, New Regency, CBS, and 20th Century Fox. Michael current role is focused on delivering branded content and managing the overall strategic partnerships across the APRO division. Recent acquisitions include the Miramax library, New Regency Library, RHI Library, Monster Hunt, Journey to the West, The Lost City of Z, Triple 9, Shaun the Sheep, Non-Stop, Limitless, The Artist, The Kings Speech, Chronicles of Riddick, Kick ass, & much more.
