From Steven Spielberg to the Sydney Opera House , Jay has worked in the live and recorded mediums throughout the world. Born in the Philippines, Jay grew up in Sydney, Australia. He trained at a performing arts school and was signed to a talent agency at the age of 7. Starting out as a performer, Jay worked as a dancer, singer, musician and actor. Throughout his school and university years, he was heavily involved in a number of contract shows, touring interstate and overseas.
No stranger to theatre, Jay worked in a number of professional theatre productions, which include The King and I, directed by Christopher Renshaw, starring Hayley Mills and artistically directed by Jerome Robbins, A Midsummer Night's Dream directed by Baz Luhrmann and the stadium production of Aida directed by Mauro Bolognini.
Over the years, Jay has performed and worked in film production on numerous events starring many well-known music artists, ranging from Prince to Pavarotti, actors Tony Curtis to Arnold Schwarzenegger and profiles, YouTuber Caspar Lee to super model, Naomi Campbell..
Jay's screen experience started in the Australian film industry, where he worked on a number of series and independent films. He then moved into international work overseas in the USA and Europe and in 2005, got his first taste in the music video industry, when he worked on N'Fa's music video directed by Heath Ledger. Starring Carolina Cerisola, the project marked Heath's directorial debut. Since then, Jay has worked on music videos for the likes of Gregory Porter, One Direction and Britney Spears.
In film, Jay has worked on successful productions that have won awards at the Berlin, Sundance and Venice film festivals, the Academy Awards and the Guinness World Record awards. He has been involved in multimedia projects viewed by billions across the globe, such as the Sydney Olympics and the premiere of the Live Earth: Concerts for Climate Change, which scheduled live concerts in all 7 continents within the space of 24 hours. Special events include commercials for the Super Bowl and FIFA World Cup and the United Nations 50th Anniversary.
No stranger to being a stills photographer, Jay has worked on Good Morning America, BBC World News, Masterchef Australia and in 2018, had his work selected by Barbra Poma to be displayed at the Pulse Interim Memorial in Orlando, Florida.
As a director, Jay has worked with sport star Dan Carter, Miss World Australia, Erin Holland, and Disney animator of The Lion King, Beauty and the Bast, Aladdin, Pocahontas and Tarzan, Phillip S. Boyd.
