The three-episode series will debut on HBO and Max beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 9 p.m. Et. You can watch with a 7-Day Free Trial of Max.

The first official trailer for the forthcoming HBO documentary, Savior Complex, cycles through multiple complicated and often conflicting perspectives. The first presented in the clip is that of the documentary’s primary subject: Renee Bach. “I think some of the most wild accusations that were made about me is that I killed 800 children, I was medically experimenting on children,” the former homeschooled missionary states. “Compared to Adolf Hitler, assumed to be part of the KKK … It’s kinda like, where to begin, you know?”

Welcome to the Ghostface Glossary, a guide to every horror reference and nod throughout the first five films of the Scream franchise.
After a lot of pausing, rewinding, and zooming in, as well as researching, we’re catching all of the many horror-specific references Williamson, Craven, and Co. included in this beloved postmodern slasher franchise. If we’ve forgotten any glaring ones, kindly let us know.
This guide will exclude homages from previous Scream films and their respective sequels— we’re only looking at outside horror franchises and inspirations, because any red-blooded Ghostface fan is likely already aware of those. (Goes without saying that the beloved faux franchise ‘Stab’(s) 1-8 will also not be counted, since, even though our neon green ‘Stab’ t-shirts and mock VHS tapes feel very real, it’s still a very fake franchise). If we’ve forgotten any glaring ones, kindly let us know.

This article contains spoilers for "Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio."
Even when adapting others' stories, Guillermo del Toro always puts a personal thumbprint on his movies. He remixed Mike Mignola's "Hellboy" as a superhero spin on Beauty and the Beast, reframing the relationship between the eponymous hero (Ron Perlman) and Liz Sherman (Selma Blair) as a love story. In his 2021 remake of "Nightmare Alley," he eschewed the ghostly black-and-white color scheme of the original film. Courtesy of cinematographer Dan Laustsen, del Toro's film mixed lurid, snowy blues with golden yellow hues; the blood really pops in both colors.
The filmmaker's most recent feature, the stop-motion "Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio" was released on Netflix, to critical acclaim. The tale of the wooden boy is a classic that's been retold many times, but del Toro found a fresh way to spin the story and make it feel a piece with his films...

Did Angelina have to survive the blast that she set off?
Manifest Season 4 Episode 5 reunited Ben with his daughter, but not before Angelina caused even more destruction.
At this stage, Angelina might as well be described as the Angel of Death.
Every time she's around, someone dies. In this instance, she could kill an entire group of survivors of Flight 828.
If you watch Manifest online, you know it was easy to sympathize with Angelina initially because of her backstory.
Her parents were awful to her, so it was inevitable that she would misinterpret some of the callings.
The show's attempt at making her more human with the flashback of her and Eden on the bridge fell flat for me.
Her actions since Manifest Season 3 Episode 13 have hinted that she's beyond the point of reforming and seeing the light, so to speak.
There's no hope for her if she thinks that...

FX promised a “season like no other” with American Horror Story: NYC, and it certainly has been. But does that also mean it won’t be connected to any of the previous 10 AHS installments?
Longtime fans certainly hope that isn’t the case, so when the silhouette of a winged woman appeared in the preview for Week 3 (Episodes 5 and 6), they allowed themselves to get excited. After all, who else could it be if not Frances Conroy as Shachath (aka the Angel of Death), last seen way back in American Horror Story: Asylum?

The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films announced today that they have moved up their upcoming horror film, "Amityville Horror: The Awakening," from April 1st, 2016 to January 6th, 2017. The film is directed by Franck Khalfoun and stars Bella Thorne, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Cameron Monaghan.
Inside sources say The Weinstein Company executives and producer Jason Blum have made the decision after horror films have a good track record opening in the beginning of the year. Notable horror films that have had successful openings in January include "One Missed Call", "The Unborn", "Daybreakers", "The Devil Inside", "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D", "Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones", "Woman In Black 2: Angel Of Death", and this year's "The Forest."
"Amityville Horror: The Awakening" will face stiff competition from the new "Friday The 13th", "The Split" directed by M. Night Shymalan, and Paul W.S. Anderson's "Resident Evil: The Last Chapter."

Indie distribution giant eOne UK has broken a number of records since launching seven years ago. The outfit anticipates breaking another in 2016.
Speaking to Screen ahead of the company’s 2016 slate presentation at Picturehouse Central in London (Dec 2), eOne Films UK managing director Alex Hamilton predicts big things for the company next year.
“I’m convinced that 2016 will be our biggest ever year as a UK company,” said Hamilton boldly. “I’m always saying we need to have top-quality content and with the best will, some years your top-quality content will be better than others. But next year our line-up is the strongest it’s ever been.”

Exclusive: British director Tom Harper has sharply criticised the British Board Of Film Classification (BBFC) over its decision to give his Hammer horror sequel The Woman In Black: Angel Of Death a 15 certificate.
Speaking in Rotterdam, where his political drama War Book opened Iffr last night, Harper questioned the grounds on which the classification for the horror sequel was made.
“Personally, I was disappointed it (Angel Of Death) was a 15,” Harper told Screen. “There was no blood, no swearing. Obviously, there are some uncomfortable scenes within it. It was always intended to be a 12A.”
The director said the filmmakers were presented by the BBFC with a “whole long list of - to my opinion - questionable reasons” as to why Angel Of Death was made a 15 rather than a 12A.
According to Harper, one of the moments highlighted by the BBFC was “a lady appears behind a door and a door slams”.

Final Update, Monday 4:49 Pm Pt: Across the Top 10 major studio releases internationally there’s reason for some holiday cheer. This weekend’s figures are up 19.4% over last frame with The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies leading the pack at $89M, plus strong perfs from Exodus: Gods And Kings in new key markets and the Night At The Museum finale. Still, that result is down from last year, largely due to the impact that Frozen was having on the season with a $50.5M take in the comparable frame. Five Armies in the estimates is also about 9.3% off from Smaug’s performance last year, but there are those nasty currency fluctuations to take into account.
Still, it a big weekend for local titles. Last frame’s Indian release Pk added Bollywood flair to the international box office with an offshore haul of $14.3M for a global cume of $61.46M.

The Woman In Black: Angel Of Death is almost upon us, and should you need a refresher on the mythology, Hammer have just released this handsome motion comic as a primer. Jeremy Irvine, who plays mysterious airman Harry in the follow-up to James Watkins' 2012 original, narrates the terrible tale of Jennet Humfrye and Alice Drablow...The new film takes place decades after Daniel Radcliffe’s ill-fated visit to Eel Marsh House. The Second World War is raging in Europe, and teachers Eve (Phoebe Fox) and Jean (Helen McRory) have been tasked with evacuating a dozen Blitz orphans from London to the isolated North-Eastern coastal village of Crythin Gifford, and specifically to that isolated house on the causeway, uninhabited for years apart from the malevolent shade of a certain Jenette Humfrye stalking its hallways. Also new to the area is Raf bomber pilot Harry (Irvine), posted not far from the teachers and the children.

Taking place a full forty years after the events of the Daniel Radcliffe-led original, Angel of Death will see Eel Marsh House transformed into a temporary bomb shelter for those fleeing the cities amidst the chaos of World War II. Starring War Horse‘s Jeremy Irvine, Phoebe Fox and Leanne Best as the titular supernatural entity, Harper’s sequel will chart Fox and Irvine’s attempts to protect the children at the old residence from a vengeful spirit.
Expect thrills and chills aplenty when Angel of Death makes its bow, but one question that fans — and perhaps studio execs...

The haunted house is a setting that will always appear in horror films. For decades, American movies have tried to find a way to reinvigorate the haunted house in every way from modernizing it to using the found footage approach to showcasing it. Still, for my money, nothing is scarier than an old English home. Something about them is just inherently creepier than even the scariest American home. Take for instance The Woman In Black 2: Angel Of Death. Following the sleeper hit starring...

Watch: Return To Eel Marsh House With Trailer For Horror Sequel 'The Woman In Black: Angel Of Death'
The horror sequel is in tricky territory: it must find fresh scares and must push the story forward to new places. But often, that means either a) having the same characters get terrified again, or b) putting new characters in the old location where spooky happenings occurred. And for "The Woman In Black: Angel Of Death," they're taking the latter route with a bit of time jump too. The sequel to the very good 2012 "The Woman In Black," starring Daniel Radcliffe, now finds Jeremy Irvine in the lead. The year is 1941, the blitz is on, and some schoolteachers evacuate children and take them to Eel Marsh House. And of course things get creepy. On the plus side, the setting ripe with potential and thematic resonance, but on the other, this trailer makes the movie seem like your standard jump-scare routine. But perhaps that's just the marketing, and hopefully this followup...

Exclusive: Relativity is wrapping a deal to acquire U.S. rights to Black Or White, the Mike Binder-directed drama that stars Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer. A racially charged drama that created strong buzz when it premiered at Toronto under the title Black And White. That title couldn’t be cleared, which is why it changed to “Or.” The film will be released in time to qualify for the Oscar race. That could mean a platform before year’s end, but those details are being worked out. Relativity will release the film through its newly formed multcultural division.
The drama is inspired by the true story of a grieving widower, who is also an angry alcoholic (Costner), and his struggle to retain custody of the young mixed-race granddaughter he and his recently deceased wife were raising. Spencer co-stars as the grandmother on the opposite side of the dispute. Gillian Jacobs,...

Interstellar
EW reports that over an hour of footage from Christopher Nolan's latest feature "Interstellar" has been shot in IMAX.
Nolan says: "This is the first film I have made where the actual experience of the film is paramount to the audience. You would think that's the case with Batman movies but it's not; they're more dependent on the reaction of characters on screen. Interstellar is different. It harkens back to the direct experience films of 2001, where you're not just experiencing it through the characters, you are lost in it."
Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death
Relativity has moved up the release date of Tom Harper's horror sequel "Woman in Black 2: Angel Of Death". Originally slated to open January 30th, it will now hit January 2nd.
Jeremy Irvine and Helen McCroy star in the film which takes place four decades after the events in the 2012 Daniel Radcliffe-led original.

An exceedingly dark trailer emerges for Hammer's horror sequel, The Woman In Black: Angel Of Death...
The Woman In Black was a surprisingly huge hit for the revived British studio Hammer, with the star power of Daniel Radcliffe helping it on to a UK haul of just over £14m. That's the kind of success you ignore at your peril if you happen to be in the business of making horror movies, and sure enough, Hammer's been busily making a sequel to The Woman In Black, subtitled Angel Of Death.
Inevitably, Daniel Radcliffe isn't back for this one, so director Tom Harper (who replaces the previous film's James Watkins) will have to make do without the actor's shining, terrorised eyes, which almost appeared to glow when underlit by a guttering candle. Instead, it's Jeremy Irvine and Phoebe Fox's turn to be terrorised by shadowy forces in a story that takes...

Living up to its description of a tease, this first video for The Woman In Black sequel Angel Of Death plays it very coy with ominous sounds, lots of seriously dark footage and one very quick scare at the end. Take a look below. The sequel continues the story four decades on from the time when Daniel Radcliffe’s Arthur Kipps tangled with the dark secrets lurking within Eel Marsh House. Now the property has become a temporary lodging for evacuated children during World War II. Trouble is, the arrival of the youngsters awakens the dormant, terrifying spectre…Our heroes this time out are psychiatric nurse Eve Parkins (Phoebe Fox) and Harry Burnstow (Jeremy Irvine), who must help her uncover – and survive – the house’s dark secrets.Peaky Blinders veteran Tom Harper takes up the directing reins, working from Jon Croker’s script.
