In its second episode, “Guilty Party” attempts to pull a neat little meta trick of admitting its own wrongs through the mouth of a skeptical character. As disgraced journalist Beth (Kate Beckinsale) pitches a story about Toni (Jules Latimer), a young Black mother serving a life sentence for a crime she insists she didn’t commit, Beth’s young boss Amber (Madeleine Arthur) cocks a skeptical eyebrow. “I don’t know,” Amber says. “It sounds a bit ‘white savior-y’ to me.” Amber might be wary of any story that can’t be written in listicle format, but her instincts about Beth, at least, are spot on. "You ever feel like sometimes everything is just... hard." The Orchard has debuted the official trailer for an emotional, indie romantic drama titled Paper Year, from first-time filmmaker Rebecca Addelman, a TV writer making a leap into feature films. The title is a reference to the first year of marriage between two young lovers. Both still in their early twenties, the newlywed couple face the challenges of growing up head-on, together and individually, as they stumble through maturation into adulthood during the first year of marriage. Eve Hewson and Avan Jogia star, along with Hamish Linklater, Andie MacDowell, and Andrew Markowiak. This looks super cliche but adorable, as all of these young romance films usually do. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Rebecca Addelman's Paper Year, direct from YouTube: Franny (Eve Hewson) and Dan (Avan Jogia) are fresh-faced, 22-year old newlyweds playing house and juggling new jobs in Los Angeles.

Once there’s a musical, pretty much everything is fair game, and with that in mind, TV Land has started the ball rolling on a Heathers anthology series.
It’s tricky to imagine what the series might look like, but it apparently it focuses on Veronica coming out the other side of her time with the first Heathers to find herself in the present day with a new group of Heathers. You have to imagine that Veronica has grown into a rather interesting person, one way or another, after the experiences that have now become pop culture canon.
Skeptics might not look too highly on the idea of taking this crazy black comedy for a spin, but the script is coming from Jason Micallef, who wrote the fantastic film Butter.

New Girl, Season 2, Episode 17: “Parking Spot”
Written by Rebecca Addelman
Directed by Fred Goss
Airs on Tuesdays at 9pm (Et) on Fox
Back in January, Zooey Deschanel tweeted a photo of a bunch of cats on a car and in this week’s New Girl we finally get to see the furry stars in action as the roommates argue over who should get the Parking Spot.
The episode seems to be driven by an available parking spot but really it is about the awkwardness and sexual tension that Nick and Jess share. Their screen time alone is somewhat disappointing in this episode. When they attempt to ‘out weird’ each other by the lift, it feels uncomfortable and not in a funny way. Somehow the decision comes down to Nick. This leads to an amusing all-bets-are-off competition between the trio to see who can get their car to the spot first.

New Girl Episode 15: “Cooler”
Written by: Rebecca Addelman
Directed by: Max Winkler
Original Airdate: 29 January 2013 on Fox
Another great episode of New Girl this week as we see the return of ridiculously fun drinking game, “True American”.
“Cooler” dials back the wackiness of the last few episodes, for a more straightforward and fun, hangout episode.
