Michael Barra is a Producer and Media Executive who serves as Co-President & Producer of Lively McCabe Entertainment.
Prior to co-founding Lively McCabe Entertainment in 2017, Michael served as the President of Araca Media & Entertainment, a division of Broadway's The Araca Group that he co-founded with the Araca partners in 2015. He has previously served as an executive for companies including The Walt Disney Studios (Walt Disney Pictures in Burbank, and Disney Theatrical Group in New York), Daryl Roth Productions (Broadway), and Stageworks Media, the New York-based media company he founded post-Disney and successfully sold to Rebel Rebel Capital in 2014.
Known for a specialization in adapting iconic Hollywood properties for the stage, as well as packaging and developing musical projects for film and television, he also creates and produces original stories set in the world of theatre/music across all platforms.
Michael was born in New Haven, Connecticut and was raised in Middletown, New York. He attended John S. Burke High School in Goshen, New York, Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts,and received an MBA from Suffolk University in Boston.
Michael is married to actress/producer Katie Dietz, and they reside just outside New York City with their two young daughters.
