Shawn Felty had a passion for acting and softball, as well as many other activities. He featured in "The Colonder" as a stage 4 cancer survivor and used much of his time raising awareness in the community.
He was raised believing he was an only child and when he discovered his father (Bruce Anthony Felty) had had several children, he made an extraordinary effort to get to know his siblings and their children. He flew out to Arizona in order to meet some of them and get to know them. They went to karaoke where he sang "The Freshman" by Verve Pipe for his sisters.
Shawn was a generous, loving and talented young man. He was devoted to having close relationships with his family and friends.
Shawn Anthony Felty, 39, died on Sunday, December 13, 2009, of colon cancer. He is survived by his mother, Christine Felty; two uncles, Jack and Jim Frazier; one aunt, Jeanne Wolf and her husband, Paul; cousins, Dwayne Frazier, Patrick and Joseph Wolf, and Paula Allwein; and several half siblings: Anthony Felty, Jessica Phillips, Shannon Felty, Valerie Felty, Jan Felty, Veronica Felty and Sarah Felty.
