A man wakens in the morning and cleanses himself for prayer. He's a Muslim and in order to pray he should have been clothed not half naked! Walid (Walid Amini) meets his friend at the bus stop and he tells him he can have his notes as he won't be needing them anymore; implying he's about to do something like ending his life. Walid's friend can't get on the bus as he doesn't have fare. Moments later the bus explodes. He could have borrowed money from his friend. But not getting on he makes it look like he knows what is about to happen, the suicide aspect aside. This episode was filmed 2009 and appeared to be rather insensitive to the 7/7 bombings in London, choosing the bus as the target. Walid is viewed as the bomber more than his friend as he's still alive, they could have been in league together.

A revealing new season of films at the Ica looks at the links between religion and revolt
Do the roots of the Arab spring lie in cinema? The question seems absurd: surely kleptocratic dictatorship, youth unemployment and grain prices all played a more important part. Iranian film scholar Hamid Dabashi disagrees: "If you want to understand the emotive universe from which the Arab spring arose, cinema is a good place to start. Look at a film like Elia Suleiman's Divine Intervention: there the director spits out an apricot pit at an Israeli tank and blows it up. The scene is both fantasy and prophecy."
Dabashi will be speaking this month at Winds of Change, a series of talks and screenings at the Ica in London showcasing films from across the Muslim world; it hopes to explore the rich, sometimes fraught relationship between religion and civic society. Özer Kiziltan's...

In what may be a perfect "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" maneuver, Samsung has just revealed its answer to the iPad 2--a new set of Galaxy Tab tablets. In terms of specs, they're pretty much clones of Apple's offering.
Apple's iPad created the new tablet PC market, and the company just revealed a brand new iPad 2 version that upped its game even before competing devices were really arriving on the market in meaningful numbers. The biggest challenger to Apple yet is Korea's Samsung, whose Galaxy Tab 7-inch Android tablet was touted as the most successful rival to the original iPad (although it may not have sold in huge numbers).
The Galaxy Tab is getting a new 8.9-inch edition and a 10-inch version because, as the company's Omar Khan remarked at the unveiling at the Ctia show, Samsung "doesn't believe in the one-size-fits-all" strategy (a completely overt stab at Apple's single tablet offering,...

A group of friends decide to take a little road trip to a rock concert. Along the way, they are diverted from their route by a political protest. This proves to have grave consequences, as they soon run out of gas in the middle of the isolated Pakistani countryside. They are soon attacked by a throng of plague-striken zombies who are hungry for human flesh. Just when they think they have escaped the creatures, their luck worsens tremendously when they stumble upon the hunting ground of a crazed psychopath clad in a burqa who is armed about a spike ball on a chain.
Pakistan certainly isn't country known for horror films. However, Omar Khan's frenzied entry into the genre exceeds expectations and is one of the most stylish, interesting, and atmospheric horror films of the past decade.
