The Joel Schumacher-helmed Batman movies: some folks would say “the less said about them, the better…” Neither film is exactly beloved, beyond connoisseurs of camp cinema anyway, though it would seem as though they’re consistently being reevaluated every time a new Batman film comes out. So why set up a Face Off between these two much-maligned sequels? Cause that’s the kind of thing we do around here — and besides, this writer hadn’t seen either movie in a very long time, so it would prove to be a rather interesting journey.
After Tim Burton vacated the director’s chair and moved into a producing role for the third installment, Warner Brothers brought in Joel Schumacher to take the reins on Batman Forever. Starring Val Kilmer as Bruce Wayne, Jim Carrey as the Riddler, Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face, Nicole Kidman as Dr. Chase Meridian, and Chris O’Donnell as Dick Grayson aka Robin.

The rise of downloadable patches has been a blessing for modern fighting games. Many modern fighters have expanded their rosters of playable characters through Dlc, which has given rise to countless leaks and rumors. For instance, the Super Smash Bros. community regularly tries its hardest to discover all the season pass fighters that will appear in the game. As such, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the MultiVersus community is currently doing the same.
Like other platformer fighting games before it, MultiVersus launched with a healthy, if small, collection of playable characters. Everything from fan-favorite DC characters such as Batman and Superman to Loony Tunes favorites such as Bugs Bunny and Taz. Of course, Warner Bros.’s influence extends well beyond those properties. There’s a truly wild range of characters who could theoretically appear in the game.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you haven’t watched “Joker: The Killing Vote,” Episode 6 of “Harley Quinn” Season 3, now streaming on HBO Max.
Like all comic book characters, the Joker has been the subject many diverse interpretations throughout the years, from Cesar Romero’s prank-loving ’60s clown to Mark Hamill’s gleefully maniacal criminal mastermind in the ’90s animated series. But in recent years, the character has been depicted almost exclusively in one light: dark, grim and dangerous.
In Heath Ledger’s acclaimed turn as a scarred version of the character, Jared Leto’s divisive portrayal of a tatted up clown prince of crime and Joaquin Phoenix’s highly physical performance as an ordinary man turning into the Joker, Batman’s most famous nemesis has rarely been allowed to be lighthearted of late, with writers emphasizing his darkest and most murderous tendencies. While some exceptions exist — including the Joker...

When Batman & Robin came out 25 years ago in the summer of 1997, it pretty much acted as the death knell for the Dark Knight on the big screen. Following on the heels of 1995’s Batman Forever, this silly, sub-juvenile horror show from director Joel Schumacher killed any good will built up by the earlier Tim Burton Batman movies and created such an awkward situation for Warner Bros. that they ultimately decided it would be better to reboot the franchise eight years later by letting Christopher Nolan go in startling new directions with Batman Begins (2005).
Since then we’ve had Christian Bale as Nolan’s Batman, Ben Affleck as an older, more vengeful Caped Crusader in the Snyderverse, and most recently Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson’s ultra-dark take about a younger Batman still finding his way. Each of them has had their supporters and detractors, but all have managed to...

The HBO Max animated series "Harley Quinn" is coming back for its third season in July, and Harley (voice of Kaley Cuoco) and Poison Ivy (voice of Lake Bell) are not just fighting crime together. They're a couple. It's a much healthier relationship than when Harley was with the Joker (voice of Alan Tudyk). But some fans have noticed something about Harley's voice depending on who she is with: it tends to change accents. That's for a very good reason, according to writer and executive producer Justin Halpern.

Everybody’s favorite queer supervillain couple is finally back. The first trailer for “Harley Quinn” Season 3 has been released, with the popular adult animated series set to make its debut as an HBO Max Original on July 28.
“Harley Quinn” follows the misadventures of its title character, a Batman villain first created by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini for 1992’s “Batman: The Animated Series.” The series begins with Harley (voiced by Kaley Cuoco), long defined by her abusive relationship with the Joker (Alan Tudyk), striking out on her own to become Gotham City’s No. 1 supervillain. Over the course of the first two seasons, Harley develops a dysfunctional, but loyal team of misfit criminals — including her best friend Poison Ivy (Lake Bell), aspiring thespian Clayface (Tudyk), expert hacker King Shark (Ron Funches), Ivy’s landlord Sy Borgman (Jason Alexander) and venus flytrap Frank the Plant (J. B. Smoove) — and slowly but...

Spotify is bringing Winston Duke and Hasan Minhaj to Cannes next week for a panel conversation about Spotify and Warner Bros./DC’s podcast Batman Unburied.
During the event, which takes place June 22 at the audio giant’s Spotify Beach headquarters on the Croisette, Duke and Minhaj will be joined by Peter Girardi, Warner Bros. Animation’s evp alternative programming. The conversation will be moderated by Dawn Ostroff, Spotify’s chief content and advertising business officer.
Next week’s panel marks the first time that Duke and Minhaj — who voiced Bruce Wayne/Batman and The Riddler, respectively — are getting together to discuss the adaptation and their experience creating the audio-only series.
Since debuting worldwide on May 3, Batman Unburied has become a hit for Spotify and, at one point, overtook The Joe Rogan Experience for Spotify’s No. 1 podcast ranking spot in the U.

It’s a funny world we live in when a single bit of possible casting news can turn Film Twitter on its head. Overnight, the fans of 2019’s Joker and those more skeptical toward Todd Phillips making a sequel titled Joker: Folie à Deux switched places when it was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter that Lady Gaga is in talks to play Dr. Harleen Quinzel, aka Harley Quinn… and that the movie is going to be a musical.
Suddenly those of us who were ambivalent toward the prospect of more Scorsese allusions in murderous clown makeup sat up and took notice while those eager for more of the same were left befuddled. A musical?! Sure! Why not?! Recall that in the climax of the first Joker, Joaquin Phoenix’s titular character is literally dancing to music, if only in his own head, while winding himself up to shoot Robert De Niro on live television.
