- Her first interest was singing which led to her performing in Musical Theatre, and by the time she was 18 she chose to focus on acting.
- Her mother, Tammy Klefstad, was a former exhibition ballroom dancer and model who became a stay-at-home mom and homemaker when Heidi was growing up. She passed away in 2009.
- Growing up, she was encouraged to pursue music. She played the piano, guitar, drums and sang.
