Sandro Ventura was born in Lima, Peru on July 7, 1969. He's the oldest
of three brothers and son of Guillermo Ventura and Carmen Mantilla. He
got married in 1987 to Mapy Pedreros and had two sons (Sandro and
Alain) and one daughter (Macarena). They lived together until 1997 when
they divorced. After he finished high school, he decided to pursue a
filmmaker career and in 1994 he majored as journalist and movie critic
in El Comercio diary. As a journalist he interviewed big stars like Mel
Gibson, Vin Diesel, Shakira and Enrique Iglesias and directors like
Luis Mandoki, Stephen Sommers, Rupert Wainbright. In 2000 he left
journalism and initiated a career as TV producer, being employed on
diverse TV shows. By this time he knew the TV host and actress Fiorella
Rodriguez and married her in 2003. By this time, Sandro had directed
four shorts films and several documentaries and made his first feature
film: the comedy Talk Show, which achieved great success in
Perú.
