Dwane Harris(I)
- Camera and Electrical Department
- Writer
- Cinematographer
Dwane Harris was born January 22, in Kingston, JA. He came to the
United States at the age of 4 and lived in Hollywood, FL for 10 years
until he moved to Newark, NJ. While attending Arts High School in
Newark, he majored in visual arts. He has a B.A. in English Literature
from Rutgers University, Piscataway, NJ.
Dwane Harris began his film career when he wrote his first screenplay while in college. Due to the absence of a film program at Rutgers University, Dwane chose to learn film production from experience. Most of his spare time was dedicated to reading every film production literature available to him and working as a production assistant on various film sets in New York and New Jersey. All of his hard work paid off when he was recognized for his efforts and was given the opportunity to shoot his first short film.
While working on an independent feature in New York, the cinematographer and gaffer realized Dwane's dedication and willingly offered their equipment and services free of charge if he could produce a script that was: one scene, one location, and would take only one day to shoot. Dwane saw opportunity, took it, and produced his first short film, "Crooked" in 2005. In 2006 Dwane followed up with his second short film "Insecurity". In 2007 Dwane directed his third short film "It Wasn't For Love".
Dwane Harris will continue to learn and apply his knowledge and talents to his filmmaking efforts. Although he has had no formal training in film production, Dwane is determined to learn and become a skilled filmmaker whether he's writing, producing, directing, or working in any aspect of filmmaking.
