This is the second year for the Makeup and Hairstylists Guild joining the awards game, and they've been a welcome addition to the circuit. They spread their nods thin across a number of categories, but it's a good window into what this branch digs, for sure. This year, the only two films on the Academy's bake-off list of finalists that didn't garner any recognition were "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" and "Noah." Meaning "Foxcatcher," "The Grand Budapest Hotel," "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Maleficent" and "The Theory of Everything" were each represented in one form or another. Meanwhile, "Guardians of the Galaxy" led with the most mentions at three, while "The Grand Budapest Hotel," "Interstellar" and "Into the Woods" each got a pair. As previously announced, Oscar-winning make-up artist Rick Baker and Emmy-nominated hair stylist Kathryn Blondell will receive the Guild's Lifetime Achievement Awards. Actress Selma Blair and actor Mikey Day bring their on-screen chemistry in TV series "Kath & Kim" off screen as both of them have committed to embark on a love relationship in real life. "It's never happened to me before but it happened, I fell in love. I've never had a set romance. I think it makes work a lot more fun," Blair gushes about her new romance.
"We were really affectionate while we were shooting but we didn't get together until filming wrapped, because we didn't want it to be like, 'Ooh, what if you don't like me...?'" Blair continues. She then adds, "(But) he's wonderful, he's so funny."
Selma Blair, known for her starring role as Cecile Caldwell in "Cruel Intentions", portrays the titular role of Kim Day in NBC's "Kath & Kim". Her character is described as a foxy, 40-something divorcee who finally has time for herself and her valiant search for love.

In August, BuddyTV gave you a Fall Review, giving you a sneak peek into the returning and new shows that will hit the airwaves this season. One of those shows is NBC’s Kath and Kim, which premieres on October 9 at 8:30pm. Unfortunately for most viewers, the TV critics are at it again, releasing their reviews and spoiling all the fun for us.
For those who wouldn’t want to be swayed, read no further because there may be bad news for those who are looking forward to NBC’s Kath and Kim, which stars Molly Shannon as Kath Day, Selma Blair as Kim Day, John Micheal Higgins as Phil Knight and Mikey Day as Craig Baker. Created by Gina Riley and Jane Turner, the original series of Kath and Kim hails from Australia, and was developed for American television by Reveille Productions and Universal Media Studios in cooperation with NBC.
