October 20, 2023 New York, NY – Bea Miller is in a new chapter in her life and career, and her latest singles, including “gauche,” offer a glimpse into her evolving lyrical and sonic direction. Her 5th independent single released this year, “gauche” is a gritty, midtempo alternative track with poignant references to a real-life car crash she caused at the age of 18. The single is the latest released via her own label, aptly named gauche records (Ada Worldwide). The new single arrives ahead of her 8-city US gauche tour.
The emotion-packed single was produced by frequent collaborators Kyle Shearer (Allie X, Rina Sawayama, Melanie Martinez) and guitarist Mikey Lasusa. Bea helms the track as the lead songwriter alongside Cara Salimando (Dua Lipa, Sabrina Carpenter, Allie X) with additional contributions from producers Mikey Lasusa and Kyle Shearer. On the moody track, Bea navigates being distracted and day-dreaming while still being overly self-aware (and owning it). Lyrically,...

Based upon Anna Todd’s novel–which itself has been described as a work of One Direction fan fiction–After is a mild entry into the good girl takes a walk on the wild side genre that’s been the basis for countless teen romances, thrillers, and Nicolas Sparks romantic dramas. Jenny Gage, the director of the admired All This Panic–a film about the internal lives of teenage girls battling dysfunctional families, uncertain living conditions, and the general anxiety of growing up and going to college–is certainly an interesting choice to direct After, although Catherine Breillat would have been an inspired one.

Skip around the radio dial and you’re bound to hear an artist who’s one degree of separation from Simon Cowell. Disciples of his brand of musical boot camp include “American Idol” season one winner Kelly Clarkson and season four victor Carrie Underwood; “America’s Got Talent” champ Grace VanderWaal; “The X Factor” alums One Direction, Fifth Harmony, Susan Boyle, Camila Cabello, Bea Miller and James Arthur; and supergroup Il Divo.
“Look at the careers of artists that Simon has been a part of and you will most likely find one common denominator: confidence,” Clarkson tells Variety. “I’m not sure that Simon could ever work with people that are insecure, and if he has or does, I’m almost certain he would be annoyed by it. Simon has been a part of so many careers and all the artists are very different from one another, but I do think,...

Bea Miller released the first music video from her Chapter Two: Red Ep collection on Thursday for her tune “Like That.”
“I wrote ‘Like That’ on the day when I woke up and thought, ‘I’m done feeling sorry for myself and I’m done letting other people bring me to a point where I think I should,'” Miller, 18, tells People about her inspiration behind the track. “I remember feeling so angry that I had been so sad for so long and literally forced myself to get over it and be a stronger and happier person.

Coca-Cola is spreading its #MakeItHappy campaign across multiple platforms. The latest creator joining in on the quest to make the Internet a more positive place is Ryan Seacrest, who teamed up with Kurt Hugo Schneider and a combination traditional and new media performers for a music video called "Come On #MakeItHappy".
The three-and-a-half minute video is directed by Schneider, who has more than five million subscribers on YouTube, and hosted on Seacrest's YouTube channel. There's plenty of talent in front of the camera, too. Traditional media stars Jordin Sparks, Janel Parrish, Victoria Justice, Bea Miller, and Nolan Gould appear, as do online content creators Jack & Jack, Andrea Russett, Brent Rivera, Sam Tsui and Chris Collins. Schneider and Seacrest lead this group through an "Uptown Funk"-esque song that spreads the titular campaign's positive message.
The video arrived just after the Super Bowl, where Coke also ran an ad supporting #MakeItHappy...

Ah, it's the annual Thanksgiving slaughter – and we're not talking about Pilgrims and Indians. As in years past, The X Factor aired a live double elimination last night, and it was once again a total buzzkill. "I hate that we're doing this on Thanksgiving, it's not Ok at all," said mentor Demi Lovato in the understatement of the year as Lillie McCloud and Josh Levi were eliminated from the competition.

Things got viciously, competitively real on The Voice‘s Season 4 Top 5 performance episode. How real, you ask?
How about Adam Levine declaring that “from a technical standpoint it doesn’t get more proficient” than human ray of sunshine Danielle “I’ll make more money by 20 than you will in a lifetime” Bradbery’s TimMcGraw cover? Or Shakira declaring “you did good” after Amber Carrington’s disappointing “Firework”?

I was out of the continent last week and, thus, missed both Wednesday and Thursday installments of "The X Factor." Somehow, the roar of buzz failed to inform me that Beatrice Miller and Arin Ray were sent home until now. I'm not shocked. Beatrice was incredibly talented, but her insecurities were worsening as the glare of the spotlight grew brighter. This show wasn't helpful to her. I think we'll see her again in a few years, but it's not an insult to say some people shouldn't be forced to become stars at 13. And as for Arin, he was only an...
