Joshua Henry was most recently seen on Broadway as the iconic 'Billy Bigelow' in the revival of CAROUSEL produced by Scott Rudin and directed by Jack O'Brien, for which he received a coveted third Tony nomination and first Grammy nom. Joshua is also know for his star turn as 'Aaron Burr' in the cultural phenomenon, HAMILTON, in Los Angeles. On his performance as Burr, Entertainment Weekly wrote "Undoubtedly, this production, stellar as it is, belongs to its would-be villain Aaron Burr. . . no one will play this role better."
Additional Broadway credits include the role of 'Noble Sissle' in George C. Wolfe's Tony-nominated musical SHUFFLE ALONG opposite Audra McDonald. Prior to SHUFFLE ALONG, Joshua starred opposite Sutton Foster in the musical VIOLET. He received Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League Award nominations for his thrilling, show-stopping performance. Prior to Violet, he was nominated for a Tony Award for his starring role in Susan Stroman's THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS. The New York Times praised his "performance of keen intensity" while the Los Angeles Times wrote that his "powerhouse performance... gives this dazzling, envelope-pushing show a beautiful gravity."
