Nicholas Jay Preuitt was born and raised in Alabama. He got his first
acting experience in local theater productions as a child. He started
the process of filmmaking at a very young age, often recruiting the
kids in his neighborhood to act in his numerous short films.
He worked as an actor in both Nashville and Atlanta before moving to Los Angeles. Some of his first television roles were in various country music videos.
A small role in the Francis Ford Coppola-produced TV pilot "In My Life" during college convinced him to eventually move to Los Angeles, where he studied acting at Playhouse West. Having obtained a doctorate degree in pharmacy from Auburn University, he is no stranger to playing the role of the medical provider both on- and off-screen. His analytical, driven, and intense persona draw him to medical, military, and law enforcement roles.
