John Koltai is a multidisciplinary Creative Director with a focus on design and animation for film and television. After graduating from Parsons School of Design in 2006 with a MFA in Graphic Design, John soon began a career in New York City crafting high-end motion graphics for commercial, film, and UI clients. With his background in design, photography, film, music, and animation, John is known as a highly skilled creative able to craft memorable visuals.
John's passion for film has led him to design cinematic opening titles for Showtimes's "Dark Net," Spike's "Inkmasters," Marvel's "Thor: Tales of Asgard," and "Planet Hulk." He created the holographic UI designs that appear in feature hits such as Marvel's "Iron Man 2," "Captain America 2," "Ant-Man," "Men In Black 3," and "RoboCop." Additionally, John provided video as well as print design direction for various national music festivals including The Gathering of the Vibes (2012-2014) as well as The Governors Ball (2015-2016).
John has worked at leading design studios in both New York and Los Angeles including The Mill, Method Studios, MPC, Smoke & Mirrors, ESI, Loyal Kaspar, Leroy and Clarkson, Imaginary Forces, Perception, Cantina Creative, Mixtape Club, Blue Sky Studios; and has had work featured in leading industry outlets such as Motionographer, Stash Magazine, Gizmodo, Promax/BDA, Pushing Pixels, Communication Arts, and Create Magazine.
