In TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the April 5 episode, Dr. Conrad Hawkins (Matt Czuchry) heads to the hospital’s daycare center after Marion (Ana Mackenzie) reaches out, not for “something a bit more fun” as usual. (Conrad had mentioned he had something that was “nothing serious” when discussing his love life in “6 Volts.”) While Marion thinks that Peter (Henry Charnaux) just has a stomachache, Gigi insists Conrad check on her friend. “We were playing Super Space,” Gigi explains. “Peter said he didn’t want to play, but he always wants to play.” After a quick exam, Conrad tells Marion to have Peter’s father meet him in the ER. We may not be ready to see it because it hasn’t even been three full months since we watched Dr. Conrad Hawkins (Matt Czuchry) lose his wife, nurse practitioner Nic Nevin (Emily VanCamp), but in the world of The Resident, three years have passed. So is it time for Conrad to start dating someone else, perhaps even semi-seriously? While Conrad did seem interested in Marion (Ana Mackenzie) — whom he met while she was looking after his daughter GiGi in daycare — it didn’t seem like either was looking for that to become anything serious during their conversation in bed in the winter finale. “We all need physical contact and we all want what we want,” executive producer Andrew Chapman previously told TV Insider. “He’s dipping his toe into the water, so to speak,” he continued. “Having a little moment with Marion is moving forward, and we’ll see where that goes.

Exclusive: ABC Family has firmed up casting on its new untitled drama pilot from The Secret Life of the American Teenager creator Brenda Hampton. Katelyn Tarver (Nick's Big Time Rush), Valerie Tian (Juno), Ana Lucasey (Lie to Me), and Christian Serratos (the Twilight saga) will headline the hour-long project, which revolves around four ethnically diverse teenage girls who attend private school in California. Rounding out the cast are Domain-repped Brad Rowe (Tell Me You Love Me) and Larry Clarke.
