Based in southern California, Gabriel Rivera is an actor/writer/producer originally from El Paso, TX. With over a decade of on-set production experience, he has worked both in front of and behind the camera on television commercials, training videos, independent features, Hollywood tent-pole movies, and short films.
While working as a production assistant on Ethan Hawke's film, "The Hottest State," Rivera received his first feature acting credit (2006). He was Taft-Hartley'd when Hawke personally asked him to perform a song on camera from the film's soundtrack.
In 2009, Gabriel booked his first lead role in the award winning 35mm short film, "Red Mesa." The film became eligible for Oscar® nomination when it won Best Short Film at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival in 2010.
An accomplished singer-songwriter, touring musician, and motivational speaker, Rivera traveled overseas for ten months to perform for and speak to students at Department of Defense Schools on U.S. military installations in Europe, England, and the Middle East (2012-2013). His inspirational single, "Unlimited" is available on iTunes.
Rivera holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rice University (2002) and an MBA in Film Producing from John Paul the Great Catholic University (2014). He has recently completed writing a one-hour dramatic television pilot set on the U.S./Mexico border, in which he plans to star and produce.
