Exclusive: After more than a decade, Silver Lining Entertainment, the management and production company founded by veterans Jeff Golenberg and Sam Maydew, is dissolving.
Golenberg and fellow Silver Lining partner Jason Shapiro have launched Strand Entertainment, a management and production company based in Los Angeles, bringing most of Silver Lining’s managers with them. Maydew has formed his own management/production company, 734 Media. The split we hear was amicable, with the former partners’ paths diverging, a process accelerated by the pandemic.
Joining Golenberg and Shapiro in their new venture are longtime colleagues Tarik Kanafani, Emily Rifanburg, Kaelyn Hutchins, and Aileen Lewis. Jeff’s brother, manager/producer Rob Golenberg, who was a partner at Silver Lining, has formed GoGi Entertainment, a new production company focused on international productions, with his former assistant Paulina Giron Velasquez. He also plans to continue to work alongside the Strand principals and their joint production entity,...

Remember when money was the issue for Owen (Rob Lowe) and Kendra (Michaela McManus) on 9-1-1: Lone Star? Well, that’s gotten much more complicated, with her now a suspect in her husband’s death, as TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the April 25 episode shows. Owen tries to pretend he doesn’t know what she’s talking about when they speak in his office, but she knows better. “Don’t, Owen. You’ve been icing me ever since you got that call at your house. It was a cop, wasn’t it?” she asks him. “Texas Ranger, actually, and he’s more family than friend. He’s looking out for me,” Owen says. She...

This is not the morning Owen (Rob Lowe) expected to have with Kendra (Michaela McManus) in bed. In TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the April 18 episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star, things start off great for the new couple. “You know what? I’m going to say something, and I think it may sound crazy,” he tells her, but she’s on the same page: “Even though it’s only been a few weeks …” “It feels so good,” he says, while she finishes with “meant to be.” She worries it was too much, but he assures her it wasn’t. That’s when things take a turn. A dog runs in and joins them on the bed, and when Kendra calls out to Brett, Owen thinks she’s talking to the dog. But no, the dog is Brady, and Brett is a person. “Sorry, he wanted to say hi to your new friend,...

An old enemy and a new flame entered the 126’s orbit on Tuesday’s 9-1-1: Lone Star, with neither encounter ending as expected.
Let’s start with that old enemy: Thanks to the city’s new partnership with Paragon, we saw a whole lot of Pearce (aka the handsomest man alive) this week, and while I’m always down to look at Andy Favreau’s face, Tommy was less excited to keep running into the “rat bastard” at every call.

Criminal Nature, a National Parks-set procedural starring Michaela McManus and Parker Young, is not moving forward at ABC, TVLine has learned.

ABC will not be moving forward with drama pilot Criminal Nature, from Rashad Raisani, 20th Television and A+E Studios.
Criminal Nature was one of two remaining “second cycle” ABC pilots that had not heard about their fates, along with fellow drama The Company You Keep, starring and executive produced by This Is Us alum Milo Ventimiglia. I hear the latter continues to look promising for a series pickup. Like drama pilot Will Trent, which was picked up to series this month. The Company You Keep also had started a writers room in anticipation of a series order. In another encouraging sign, The Company You Keep also has brought on seasoned writer-producer Phil Klemmer as co-showrunner, I hear.

Starring Michaela McManus, Parker Young and Ian Duff and written by Raisani, Criminal Nature (fka Untitled National Parks Project) was a soapy procedural set in the stunning world of America’s great outdoors.

ABC has opted not to pick up the drama pilot “Criminal Nature” to series.
This is now the second time the project has been passed over at the broadcast network. A different iteration of the pilot with a different creative team — which included Kevin Costner as co-writer — was in the works at ABC in 2021 before being axed in July.
The new version, which had been titled “Criminal Nature,” was part of ABC’s 2022 pilot season slate. It was described as a soapy procedural set in the stunning world of America’s great outdoors. This article contains spoilers for The Orville: New Horizons season 3.
Creator Seth MacFarlane and his team accomplished an amazing third season with The Orville: New Horizons, and did so with so many outside factors affecting production. Despite the pandemic, interruptions in filming, and Fox being bought by Disney, season three is arguably the show’s strongest season in terms of storytelling. Most notably, the writers often seemed as if they were playing the “long game,” setting up new plots for the future, and incorporating several throwbacks from previous episodes.
As of now, there is no announcement as to whether or not The Orville will set sail into the stars for a fourth season, but if it doesn’t, there are several of those story threads that may forever remain loose ends. Here are some reasons why we hope The Orville returns.

The Orville: New Horizons Season 3 Episode 9
When The Orville: New Horizons was introduced eight weeks ago, it appeared to be everything you’d want to see was on the horizon. It was shiny, big, bold, exciting, and most importantly: it introduced new ingredients that promised to take the show in directions it had yet to explore.
Yet it would be all for naught if the scripts didn’t bring that same revitalized energy, or take any chances in terms of the story. If New Horizons lacked vision, then this could easily be an overinflated last horizon for the show.Proving once again that the writing team had a cohesiveness that makes this third season easily the strongest, “Domino” opens ominously on the rainy planet of Krill, where Chancelor Teleya (Michaela McManus) and a Moclan delegation meet to discuss an alliance against the Planetary Union.

Good science-fiction should challenge us. It should contain subtext that can teach, subvert, and even make us uncomfortable by shining a light on aspects of our world we don’t want to look at. Whether it is the golden standard of this layered writing style such as The Outer Limits, the legendary The Twilight Zone, or recent forays into the genre like Black Mirror, these tiny vignettes of fiction are loaded with political subtext and important morals. Written and executive produced by Raisani, the as-yet untitled drama is a “soapy” procedural set in the world of national parks. It revolves around the tangled, messy lives of the agents who work for the Isb — an elite law-enforcement unit responsible for solving all serious crimes that occur in our country’s 81,000 square miles of protected land.
Fall 2022 Primetime TV Grid: Here’s What On This Coming Season
Jackson will play Tiffany, a brassy, funny Park Service Agent, a helicopter pilot and Audrey’s (McManus) close friend. Proud to be queer, Tiffany always says exactly what she means and she enjoys taking self-important bureaucrats down a peg or two. She and Audrey’s other best friend, Lisa, are fascinated to see how the...

'Til death do them part. Netflix's You has blurred the lines between villain and victim, obsessor and obsess-ee, but its most recent third installment has poised a very unexpected question: Who is the worse person, Joe (Penn Badgley) or his wife, Love (Victoria Pedretti)? On one hand, many of Love's (mostly botched) murders were in the name of saving her family, like her teenage tryst, Theo (Dylan Arnold) and his sexy step-mom, Natalie (Michaela McManus), whose flirtations had Love convinced that divorce was on the horizon. So at...

It would be easy to say that Joe Goldberg has changed by the time “You” Season 3 starts. When last the show left him, he was on the verge of being both a husband and a father, reeling from the reveal that Love Quinn, the object of his affection (and manipulation), is almost as homicidally prolific as he is.
When Season 3 opens on the fledgling family, transplanted from LA to the fictional Bay Area suburb of Madre Linda, Joe (Penn Badgley) sees his new surroundings as a threat. He feels inadequate at his new parental responsibilities and still can’t shake the fact that Love wasn’t the romantic cure-all he had fashioned in his mind. Before long, Love (Victoria Pedretti) is sharing in the life-upheaval misery. Both of them have been chasing a warped, idealized conception of partnership; now that the two have each gotten as close to it as they’ll get,...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched the third season of “You,” streaming now on Netflix.
If you thought Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) would fall in love with a woman who was an perfect match for him in terms of how far she’d go for what she loved, marry her, have a baby with her and live some version of happily ever after — even one in which they begin to kill together — well, then you haven’t really been paying attention to Netflix’s “You.”
The second season of the dramatic thriller based on Caroline Kepnes’ “You” and “Hidden Bodies” novels teased that Joe and his new family would move to the suburbs, where he would — seemingly instantaneously — find a new object of his obsession. Creepy chaos comes to the Northern California suburbs in the new trailer for Season Three of You, set to premiere October 15th on Netflix.

Joe and Love are in for another thrilling ride.
Netflix dropped the official trailer for You Season 3, and it looks like another twist-filled affair.
We get to see Joe telling his baby son that he's changed him, which can mean a lot of different things.
We also get to see Joe stalking another woman, which does not sit well with Love.
The pair bicker like it's going out of fashion before conceding that they should go to therapy.
Always a show to throw in some satire, the therapist tells the pair of them that they are not capable of murder.
Yeah, tell that to the bodies starting to pile up.
The trip to the suburbs was supposed to be a new start for this couple, but somewhere along the way, they've realized the relationship is no longer working.
Love confronts Joe about his lack of care for her, and well,...

If you thought that becoming a father and moving to the suburbs would make Joe Goldberg less of a creepy stalker, well, you just haven’t been paying attention. Netflix released the first full-length trailer for “You” Season 3 on Friday and Penn Badgley’s narration reveals the same violent, compulsive murderer we’ve come to know and love — only now with a lawn.

Netflix confirmed earlier this week that the highly-anticipated third season You would touch down on its streaming service on October 15.
In the aftermath, Netflix dropped a bunch of photos that tease some of the coming events, as well as some of the new cast members.
We'll start with Joe and Love because one of the photos shows them seemingly having a new killing chamber.
If you watch You online, you know Joe was stunned by the revelation that Love was partial to killing some people who got on her wrong side.
And, just as Joe realized he wanted to kill her, she told him she was pregnant with their child.
So, they moved to Suburbia, but Joe wasted no time in finding a new object of his affection, which will undoubtedly cause some problems.

If there’s one thing more terrifying than Penn Badgley’s Joe in “You,” it’s the potential for a mini-Joe. And that’s exactly what he seems to be worried about in a new teaser for Season 3 of the Netflix hit.
“A boy is not what we expected, and I would be lying if I said the thought of a mini-me was purely exciting, and not without challenges,” Badgley’s creepy voice narrates. “Let’s just say I’m hoping you’ll do as I say, not as I do.”
Of course, fatherhood tends to put one’s priorities in order and for Joe, baby Henry — a name he’s meticulously chosen for very complicated reasons — may just put him on a better path. “For you, I can change,” he says. “I’ll be a man you look up to. A man you will be proud to call dad.

You Season 3 has found Joe's latest obsession.
Per Deadline, Michaela McManus has boarded the third season of the Netflix hit in the role of Natalie, Joe's married neighbor.
If you watch You online, you know Joe set Natalie as his next obsession at the close of You Season 2.
Natalie is professionally and socially successful (which seems to be the norm on this series!), but Joe knows there is more to her than meets the eye, and that explains his decision to pursue her.
Joe has always been intrigued by women who are not who they appear to be. Case in point: Love Quinn, who later emerged as a merciless killer, much like Joe.
But Joe is bonded with Love in that they both created a baby, and thus, have moved to a suburban neighborhood.
Saffron Burrows, who plays Love's mother, has been upped to a series regular ahead of the third season.

Something is wrong in the waters off Block Island. It begins as a rumour, the sharing of fishermen's stories. On a drive home at night a fish falls out of the sky, landing on a car. Soon there are dead fish washed up on the beach on great number. Dead birds, too. it's a lot to deal with for Harry (Chris Sheffield) who is already in a state of anxiety due to the strange behaviour of his father Tom (Neville Archambault). Are the old man's blackouts and strange ideas a product of developing dementia, or something else? As Harry starts to have strange experiences himself, the matter grows still more urgent.
Further stress factors exacerbate this. His running out of patience with his friend Dale (Jim Cummings), whose passion for conspiracy theories is now starting to feel too close to home. Then there's his sister Audry (Michaela McManus), who arrives at.

The Block Island Sound is a hair-raising new horror creation from Kevin and Matthew McManus, Emmy-nominated writers and producers of American Vandal and Cobra Kai, and filmmakers behind past Fantasia hits Funeral Kings and Slumlord (aka 13 Cameras).
Atmospheric, smart and compellingly character-driven, the film captures a real sense of isolation and paranoia, with an experiential feel for its environment, brought to life with striking cinematography and sound design. Sheffield, McManus, and Archambault are fantastic, joined by a strong supporting cast that includes Jim Cummings (Thunder Road), Jeremy Holm and Willie C. Carpenter (Men in Black). The Block Island Sound is at once intimate and unconventionally grandiose, delivering thrills while touching on a range of the signature worries of our times, from conspiracy theories and climate change to unpreventable familial breakdowns. Remote fishing communities have never been scarier.
