- Luis Alberto Guzmán was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the son of Josefina Peña and Luis Alberto Guzmán. He entered the world of film music in his native city making the full length feature film called Quiero ser fiel (2014) (2014). He soon continued working with Quiero ser fiel (2014) director Joe Menendez in his next film Ladrones (2015) (2015).
He was asked to score Veneno (2018) in 2018 for director Tabaré Blanchard. The film went on to win best picture at Premios La Silla (2018) in the Dominican Republic and earned him his first award as composer.
Some of his other scores include La vida de los Reyes (2021) and El Humor en los Tiempos del Covid (2022).
