Ben Affleck has rounded out the cast for his upcoming film about Nike and its efforts to sign Michael Jordan to an endorsement deal, adding Jason Bateman, Viola Davis, Chris Tucker, Marlon Wayans and more to star alongside both himself and Matt Damon.
Also joining the cast are Matthew Maher, Tom Papa, Chris Messina and Julius Tennon. Affleck is directing the film from a script he collaborated on with Damon and was written by Alex Convery, eventually landing on the 2021 Black List of unproduced screenplays.
The untitled Nike film is set at Amazon Studios from Skydance Sports and Mandalay Pictures, and production has recently begun in Los Angeles.

Exclusive: With the NBA’s 75th season underway, Mike Tollin — who helped produce last year’s Michael Jordan docuseries The Last Dance — has found another basketball legend whose story he’s looking to tell. Tollin’s Msm is planning a new documentary on the life of George Gervin, aka “The Iceman,” who was just named to the NBA’s 75th anniversary team. The film will showcase Gervin’s influence on the game that can still be seen at all levels throughout the world.
Currently in production, the untitled project will be directed by One9 and produced by Msm, alongside Keith Stone’s GameAbove Entertainment and its subsidiary Front Runner Films. Any context would diminish this 1971 photo from the Sports Illustrated vault, so here it is: And now the context: It’s Aba and NBA Hall of Famer Artis Gilmore going up against two giraffes, which actually happened frequently in sports during the 70s. Owning crazy pets became really chic in the 60s, then those animals all grew up to play professional basketball, but giraffes dominated so hard that the game was eventually restricted to just humans in 1989 (conspiracy theorists believe this was a deliberate move by the league to allow Michael Jordan to be successful).
