The upcoming edition of Jagran Film Festival will hold a retrospective of seven films of the veteran actor Anupam Kher.
These films will include ‘Saaransh’, ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’, ‘Shiv Shastri Balboa’, ‘A Wednesday’, ‘Maine Gandhi Ko Nahi Maara’, ‘Accidental Prime Minister’ and the yet-to-release ‘The Signature’.
With the retrospective, the 11th edition of Jagran Film Festival will honour the actor’s remarkable journey by celebrating his performances that have left an indelible mark on Indian and International cinema.
Commenting on the same, Anupam Kher shared, “Jagran Film Festival is one of the oldest and prestigious film festivals celebrating Indian and international cinema. I am overjoyed to announce that seven of my most celebrated films will be screened at the festival. I am grateful to the jury members for bestowing upon this honour on me, and giving the audience an opportunity to witness the magic of storytelling come alive. See you at the movies.

Beloved Indian actor Anupam Kher has had a tremendous 2022 on screen. This year’s credits include three successful Indian films – “Kashmir Files”, “Karthikeya 2” and “Uunchai” – but now the familiar face says he is ready to return behind the camera.
Speaking to Variety on the side-lines of the International Film Festival of India (Iffi), Kher said, “I would love to direct. After a long time, a story has come to me. My niece is autistic and I have a story about a grandfather and his autistic granddaughter who live together. I have a rough structure already. Once I write the script, I may start by the end of this year or next year.”
Such a move would come twenty years after his feature directing debut, 2002’s “Om Jai Jagadish”.

“Gulab,” a film by Sanjoy Nag, now playing in the Viewing Room section of the Nfdc’s Film Bazaar market in Goa, is the first product of a slate of upcoming feature film productions from Endemol Shine India.
The company, part of the giant Banijay conglomerate, is best known as a global power in the TV production and distribution sector, but it is also close to finishing several film productions by South Asian directors. These include a slice of life social drama on aging and relevance directed by Gajendra Ahire; a social comedy by Nicholas Kharkongor; a romantic comedy by Seema Desai; and a paranormal drama by Samrat Chakraborty.
With the exception of “Gulab,” the company declined to reveal titles, synopses or casting details. “All the films are targeting a digital release in 2023,” Rishi Negi, CEO, Endemol Shine India, told Variety. Though some festival play or limited theatrical releases may be possible.

With a promise to be back next year, bigger and better, the final day of the first edition of Navi Mumbai International Film Festival (Nmiff) unfolded.
After two days of celebrating cinema, the third final saw movies like Touring talkies, directed by Gajendra Ahire, Surkhab, directed by Sanjay Talreja, Echo, directed by Suraj Nair, and Why Mom, directed by Jay B Ghadiali among others.
Post the movie screenings, the celebration started by an award ceremony to felicitate the talent of established as well as young & independent filmmakers from across the globe. The jury rewarded Lost House by Nikolay Kotyash from Russia as the best film under the student shorts category and Prism by Sandip Pandurang Mane from India won the second prize under the student shorts category. Nfdc Film Bazaar is calling for entries for its Industry Screening Program. The screenings will be organised at Film Bazaar to be held from November 20 – 24, 2013 in Marriott Resort, Goa.
Under the Industry Screenings, filmmakers can showcase and pitch their films to a select audience of sales agents, distributors, producers, festival programmers and directors. Filmmakers can either reserve their film screenings for a selected audience of international distributors and sales agents or open it for all attending delegates.
The fee for each screening is Rs 10,000 (inclusive of all taxes).
Last date for applications is November 15, 2013.

The 11th Pune International Film Festival (January 10-17, 2013) has announced its slate for 2013. These films will be screened under nine sections: International Competition, Marathi Competition, Student Competition (live action and animation), Global Cinema, Country Focus, Retrospective, Tribute, Indian Cinema and Regional Cinema.
Israeli film Hayuta and Berl by Amir Manor will open the festival on 10th January. See the schedule here.

South Korean film Pieta directed by Kim Ki-duk will open the 11th Third Eye Asian Film Festival which will run from December 6-13, 2012. The film won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival 2012.
For the first time, the Third Eye Asian Film Festival will be held simultaneously in Ravindra Natya Mandir (Mumbai) and Malhaar Theater (Thane). Gajendra Ahire’s Marathi film Anumati (Consent) will be screened as the opening film at Gadkari Rangayatan in Thane on 6th Dec.
The festival is organized by the Asian Film Foundation, Mumbai.

The 17th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (Iffk) has announced its lineup. The festival will run from 7th to 14th December, 2012 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
Some of the highlights of the lineup are festival favourites of the year Amour, Chitrangada, Samhita, The Sapphires, Drapchi, Miss Lovely, Me and You, Celluloid Man, and Baandhon.
