You’re not gone until you’re gone. At least that’s what I told people when they realized it took eight seasons for “Fear the Walking Dead” to wrap up.
“Fear” bested predictions and became one of the longest-running television spin-offs currently on air. While ratings dwindled and characters were written off over the years, it maintained a decent cult following — some tuning in for Alycia Debnam-Carey, who came into her own as an actress on the show following “The 100,” while others begrudgingly watched to keep up with the “Walking Dead” universe, after characters like Morgan (Lennie James), Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Sherry (Christine Evangelista) were transferred from the original series.
A key to its success, “Fear” never shied away from a soft reboot. Every season tackled a new approach to its storytelling, sometimes in the span of a few episodes. Early seasons of “Fear” felt migratory even,...

It's no secret that Dwight and Sherry are some of my favorite characters, so Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 9 had a major advantage going into it with the knowledge it would be focused on both characters.
While there were some great moments of the pair unpacking their trauma after returning to The Sanctuary, the decision to include Dove as yet another kid who needed saving was both random and a part of the bigger problem with the series as a whole.
Dwight and Sherry's relationship was underpinned by their time at the Sanctuary under Negan's rule, and it's a miracle they managed to come out the other end of it after reuniting on Fear the Walking Dead Season 6.
They had so much to unpack that their latest reunion would have worked far better had it just been them in the Sanctuary.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Fear The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 2, “Blue Jay.”] Did Fear The Walking Dead really just do that? We were as shocked and horrified as June (Jenna Elfman) when soldiers allowed Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Sherry’s (Christine Evangelista) son to be bitten in order to force June to continue Padre’s experiments on curing the walker virus. Furthermore, June’s pain isn’t just psychological; she’s now lost a finger, too, in retribution for her years spent cutting off Collectors’ fingers. We chatted with Elfman about that jaw-dropping episode ending, how much more devastation June can take, and what the deal was with that jar of fingers. Lauren “Lo” Smith/AMC First, we have to talk about the end of that episode. I could hardly believe it. What was going through your head when you read ...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Fear The Walking Dead Season 7 episode 13, “The Raft.”] Not a whole lot happens in “The Raft” up until the final few minutes, when everything happens all at once. The majority of the episode revolves around Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Sherry (Christine Evangelista) trying to keep baby Mo from Strand’s (Colman Domingo) rangers while Morgan (Lennie James), who they conveniently meet on the road, tries to get rid of all the walkers in Strand’s moat. Yep — they all started following him after he left the tower. Dorie Sr.’s (Keith Carradine) noble sacrifice didn’t mean much in the end, and Morgan definitely could’ve stabbed him or something so he didn’t have an excruciatingly painful death. Bummer. Lauren “Lo” Smith/AMC The episode begins with Sherry opening up a raft on a mysterious beach, so viewers are led to think she was gearing up to flee. That...

Strand's reign of terror could be ending very soon.
AMC provided TV Fanatic with an exclusive look at Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 7, titled "The Portrait."
The highly-anticipated episode finds Morgan inside the Tower.
If you watch Fear the Walking Dead online, you know the show has pit the two men against one another.
They make a deal in the clip, but before they get time to toast to it, exploding walkers gear up to invade the Tower.
In Strand's mind, this tower is a safe haven that is free from the perils of the outside world.
But the latest group of villains are here to prove otherwise.
The scene is filled with twists and turns as Morgan and Strand react to the developments, and the Tower begins to shake due to an explosive.
At least one of the walkers is thrown through the window, but the pair manage to throw it back out.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 5, “Till Death.”] Dark horses, actually. Plural. That’s the new name Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Sherry (Christine Evangelista) have given themselves in the 70-plus days since the nuclear bomb dropped. They’ve become “outlaws with a code” — so not really outlaws then, huh? — and they’re trying to show people the “right way to live,” because everyone’s mission is now the same as Morgan’s (Lennie James), even when they haven’t known him for all that long in the scheme of things. Anyway, here’s how it happens. Lauren “Lo” Smith/AMC Basically, the episode boils down to the fact that Strand needed the “Dark Horses” to track down a woman who’d escaped his tower. He had Howard bring them in, without knowing who they ...

Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 5
Sitting down to write this review of “Till Death,” I was surprised that the word count for just my notes was a whopping 1,400 words. While I tend to take very extensive notes for each episode, what sets “Till Death” apart is that much of my notes is devoted to ranting. Much of my frustration (as both reviewer and fan) stems from my disappointment with this season’s aimlessness. Why should viewers care about solving a 40-year-old murder case, or Sarah’s sudden interest in finding Wendell? Those both felt like filler episodes to me, and “Till Death” likewise does little to advance the overall story.
Austin Amelio and Christine Evangelista give this week’s tepid, nonsensical script their all, but even so, why should we care about the Dark Horses and their code? Does it really...

Is anyone else starting to get major Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 vibes?
Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 5 was a Dwight and Sherri-centric hour, and while it helped advance their relationship, it felt a little too familiar for my liking.
If you watch Fear the Walking Dead online, you know they have been reunited under the most intense of circumstances.
They got a second shot at life after serving the nuclear apocalypse. There was a moment of realization for them that they had wasted so much time apart from each other.
At its core, the franchise is about survival and the decisions you need to make to move beyond what has happened before.
Dwight and Sherri are still very much haunted by what happened to them in the Sanctuary. I have to commend the show for not forgetting about the psychological and mental warfare Negan played with them.

The Walking Dead taketh and The Walking Dead giveth.

No debut date has been given yet for the final eight episodes of the third section of the final season, but they are expected in the second half of next year.

The world as our favorite characters knows it is over.
That might seem like a strange observation when you consider the fact they've spent years fighting for survival in a zombie apocalypse, but now they have a new world to endure, one that is filled with radiation and new perils.
One of those perils appears to be good old Victor Strand (Colman Domingo).
While the freshly released Comic-Con clips for Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 spends a lot of time on the events of the nuclear blast, it does begin to paint a picture of what we can expect when the series returns later this year.
The characters have been haunted by the sins of the past for so long that there's no telling how far they will be pushed to survive.

Fear The Walking Dead will be on the hunt when the AMC spinoff returns this fall, as it was made clear Saturday during the series’ Comic-Con@Home panel.

Coming off the nuclear blast that basically ended Season 6, the first clip features now-parents Morgan Jones (James) and Grace Mukherjee (Karen David) having to fend to feed baby Morgan in the radiation-drenched Texas fallout their world has become.

I don’t know about any of you, but I avoid all spoilers so I can go into every episode of Fear the Walking Dead with a fresh and open mind. This allows more room for genuine, unfiltered reactions to plot twists and character deaths. Like when Fear killed off John Dorie earlier this season in the “The Door.” This heartbreaking episode was all the more tragic because John died feeling like he didn’t make enough of a difference. We know just the opposite to be true, of course. Not only did John’s life positively impact his friends, his death has also made a profound impact on those he’s left behind. And while no one can ably fill the Garret Dillahunt-shaped void left by John’s passing, “J.D.” steps up in...

(We’ve got some major spoilers here for the “Fear the Walking Dead” episode that aired April 18 on AMC. Like, the biggest ones. You’ve been warned.)
Well, I don’t think that went quite the way anyone expected it to.
This week’s episode of “Fear the Walking Dead” had the feel of a season finale — or at least mid-season finale. It did, after all, wrap up a multi-season plotline when Virginia (Colby Minifie) lost not only her power, but her life at June’s (Jenna Elfman) hands as well. And on top of that, several big character arcs hit their conclusions this week, such as Sherry (Christine Evangelista) and Dwight (Austin Amelio) once again going their separate ways.
There’s plenty of uncertainty at the moment, with Morgan’s little settlement over here, and Strand (Colman Domingo) and his little army over there, and the remaining Virginia loyalists still out there somewhere.

Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 9
If there’s one thing Fear the Walking Dead understands about existing in a zombie apocalypse, it’s that living is hard. Every week, our grizzled cast of characters must contend with the inevitable attrition within their ranks. As we learned last week with poor John Dorie, it’s not a matter of if you’ll die, but when you’ll die. Sometimes our hapless survivors see death coming, but more often than not it’s an ugly surprise, meted out by the living. That brings us to “Things Left to Do” and an unexpectedly early end to Virginia’s reign, which is a shame, really, since Colby Minifie delivers a truly knockout final performance. But more on Virginia in a bit.

Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 9
If there’s one thing Fear the Walking Dead understands about existing in a zombie apocalypse, it’s that living is hard. Every week, our grizzled cast of characters must contend with the inevitable attrition within their ranks. Fear the Walking Dead is staging the ultimate return to form.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 9 was all about the aftermath of John's untimely death, Virginia's downfall, and the complicated dynamics of the different groups who wanted her dead.
Jenna Elfman played every single beat of June's pain to perfection, and my appreciation only continued to grow as June realized all of this could have been avoided had she left Virginia to die.
Losing John gave the narrative a hard shift in the right direction. Taking risks is needed to reap some big rewards, and while it's sucks because John was so likable, it has helped the show considerably.
June was never going to be able to put the past behind her, not after everything that's happened at the hands of Virginia.
Virginia had the keys to the kingdom, but she made too many bad decisions. Chanting that...

Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 5
Well, here we are, another week and yet another mission to take down Ginny by turning her own plans against her. This time, in “Honey,” it’s newly reunited Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Sherry (Christine Evangelista) seeking to turn things to their advantage. But what starts out as a simple plan to steal back Al’s Swat van turns into a power struggle when Morgan (Lennie James) suddenly turns up to muddy everyone’s thinking.
In short order, tables are turned. Then turned again. Lovers are reunited, then separated. In the end, this episode feels like a retread of something we’ve seen a few too many times in 16 seasons of Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead. Intentionally or not, Dwight himself sums it up best when late in the episode he tells Morgan,...

This Fear the Walking Dead article contains spoilers.
Fear the Walking Dead season 6 delivered its first big reveal of the season at the very end of “Alaska.” After months of searching for his long lost wife, Dwight finally reunited with Sherry (Christine Evangelista) in a surprising manner, connecting via walkie basically out of nowhere. Whatever you might think of the way the reunion was executed — I found the matter-of-fact way Dwight ran into Sherry to be a bit underwhelming — this cliffhanger ending marks a major milestone in Dwight’s story of love lost. Now reunited with Sherry, perhaps the former Saviors can finally begin to do what Morgan begged that they do at the end of season 5: live.
But where has Sherry been all of this time? In case you don’t remember, she’s been missing since The Walking Dead season 7 episode “Hostiles and Calamities.” After freeing Daryl...

We were all but certain it would happen at some point, and now it's official: Christine Evangelista will be coming to Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 as Sherry, Dwight's (Austin Amelio) long-missing wife, who was last seen on The Walking Dead way back in Season 7. The official Fear the Walking Dead
