While back in Detroit, the friends he left behind — Lucas (Callen), Cooper (Griffin) and Ray (Shubert) — aren’t shy about pointing out how far he has drifted off course, despite showing early promise as a young comic.

Hotties, a new hybrid reality show that features two blind dates, throws the couples into a food truck to chef up some date-night dishes while being intermittently fed spicy foods.
Host Jade Catta-Preta joined uInterview founder Erik Meers to discuss why she likes tormenting couples on the reality series.
“I think everybody enjoys watching people eat spicy stuff!” Catta-Preta said. “It’s a phenomenon. Look at Hot Ones, look at any of those things Jimmy Kimmel does games on his show where people are eating spicy things. I think we like to see when people are out of control. We all put on this kind of mask, especially when we’re on TV or doing anything where people are watching us. Taking away that kind of control in people is so fascinating. It’s fascinating to see what happens when people are freaking out and they don’t know what to do.

We have the first TV show cancellation of the 2014-15 season and Manhattan Love Story is the "winner" of the title. ABC has cancelled the new sitcom after four episodes.
Manhattan Love Story follows the members of an extended family from New York City as they navigate the pitfalls of their various relationships. Fortunately, only the audience is privy to their inner thoughts. The castmembers include Analeigh Tipton, Jake McDorman, Nicolas Wright, Jade Catta-Preta, Chloe Wepper, and Kurt Fuller.
The sitcom debuted on September 30th to a mediocre 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.7 million viewers. It wasn't a very good start but the sitcom had no stars, little lead-in support, and was airing opposite two of the top-rated shows on television -- The Voice and NCIS.
Unfortunately, the competition got even tougher in later weeks -- and...

Last season's Trophy Wife revolved around an extended family, aired on Tuesday nights on ABC, and was cancelled due to low ratings. Will the Manhattan Love Story TV show follow the same path or will it be a hit? Cancelled or renewed for season two? We shall see.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. The would-be couple at the center of ABC’s Manhattan Love Story sure do spend a lot of time in their own heads. But what were you thinking as you watched the new rom-com on Tuesday night?

[In case you've Forgotten, and as I will continue to mention each and every one of these posts that I do: This is *not* a review. Pilots change. Sometimes a lot. Often for the better. Sometimes for the worse. But they change. Actual reviews will be coming in September and perhaps October (and maybe midseason in some cases). This is, however, a brief gut reaction to not-for-air pilots. I know some people will be all "These are reviews." If you've read me, you've read my reviews and you know this isn't what they look like.] Show: "Manhattan Love Story" (ABC) The Pitch: "Wouldn't you love to know what young men and women were thinking as they begin to fall in love?" "Good God no." "Oh. Ummm..." Quick Response: About half-way through my viewing of "Manhattan Love Story," my notes read, "Free Analeigh Tipton." And that's not because this allegedly romantic alleged comedy is airing on ABC and therefore offers all of America the chance to enjoy the "America's Next Top Model" veteran for no cost. And it wasn't that I wanted Tipton's doe-eyed naif Dana to be transplanted to a better show, because Dana's basically Dreama Walker's character from "Don't Trust the B**** in Apartment 23" and every other callow transplant in the big city ever depicted on any screen. And what have those characters all been thinking about? Purses! I have no way of knowing if this is true, but it passes for...

Now that it is just barely summer, it’s time for the networks to try their best to get you excited for fall television. ABC wants you to get excited for their schedule, and their new shows, and I’ve got some previews for you, as well as some initial thoughts.
I have to tell you, ABC is looking more and more strange as time goes on, and the overall efforts of the network really have to make you wonder. While there are some hints of interesting shows, and one or two that might turn into worthwhile vehicles, in the Eddie and the Cruisers world of television, ABC is Joe Pantoliano, clutching his tapes, and furiously blathering about the lunacy of not giving the idiotic public what they want, especially since they keep demanding it.
To that end, ABC has declared Thursday, Shonda Rhimes night, largely because someone apparently had...

Laurence Fishburne has closed a deal as a recurring for ABC’s untitled Anthony Anderson pilot (formerly Black-ish) from ABC Studios, Fishburne’s Cinema Gypsy and Principato Young. Written by Kenya Barris (The Game) and loosely based on his personal experiences, the single-camera comedy centers on an upper-middle-class black man (Anderson) who struggles to raise his children with some sense of cultural identity despite constant contradictions and obstacles coming from his liberal wife, old-school father, and his own assimilated, color-blind kids. Fishburne, repped by Paradigm and Landmark Artists Management, will play the dad. Jade Catta-Preta (China, Il, Daddy Knows Best) has signed on as a series regular in My Thoughts Exactly (aka untitled Jeff Lowell), the ABC comedy pilot from Lowell and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. ABC Studios, where Brillstein is under a TV deal, is producing. Written/exec produced by Lowell (John Tucker Must Die), the half-hour is described as...

With its latest series, My Damn Channel is joining the binge watching movement. All ten episodes of the second season of Daddy Knows Best have been released, the first of several My Damn Channel comedy network series that will utilize simultaneous release. For the unfamiliar, Daddy Knows Best stars Steve Rannazzisi (best known for his role in The League) as a dopey dad who actually doesn't know anything at all. His wife (Jade Catta-Preta) somehow puts up with his constant lies, deceits, and general shenanigans, and in season two, his decidedly un-fatherly behavior continues unabated. Here's the first episode, where he ends up in a viral video after coming out on the losing end of a street fight: The first season of Daddy Knows Best ran for seven episodes on My Damn Channel, Blip, and YouTube, racking up millions of views along the way. This time around, My Damn Channel...
