- Jim Page served as a battalion chief with the Los Angeles County Fire Department when the television show Emergency! began. He served as a consultant to the show while also helping to start and expand the paramedic program in the Los Angeles County Fire department. He started his fire service career in 1957 and two years later joined the LACoFD. He left the department in 1973 to pursue other Emergency Medical Services opportunities.
- Actor Randolph Mantooth was a good friend of his since they both worked on the show Emergency!. Mantooth was a speaker at Page's funeral.
- He wrote the Emergency! script Snakebite under the name Carroll Christensten. This pseudonym is a reference to his sister Carolyn Page.
