Andrew Schmidt is an Emmy and Annie nominated director, writer and animator with over 30 years experience in the animation industry. During his career he has worked with many of the major animation studios including Warner Bros., Dreamworks Feature Animation and Pixar Animation Studios. He has a long list of film credits that includes The Iron Giant, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, The Incredibles, Toy Story 3 and many more. He went on to work as an Episodic Director at Dreamworks Television for Guillermo Del Toro's award winning trilogy series Tales of Arcadia: Trollhunters, 3Below, Wizards as well as co-directing the Trollhunters/Netlix feature film Tales of Arcadia: Rise of the Titans. From there, Schmidt went on to directing episodes for the Nickelodeon/CBS/Netflix animated series Star Trek: Prodigy.
Currently, Schmidt is the Supervising Director on the upcoming Skydance/Apple + animated series The Search for Wondla. The futuristic coming-of-age story follows a 16 year old girl on an epic journey with her robot caretaker and a cantankerous blue alien. She discovers fantastic civilizations and learns that she might have the power to unite the world. The series is based on the literary trilogy of same name by acclaimed author Tony DiTerlizzi.
