- Allen has been training in martial arts since the age of three (1981). Starting in a little YMCA class in Cebu, Philippines, Allen studied Balitawak Escrima and Taekwondo. His family moved to Tempe, AZ in the summer of 1984 and he continued training in Taekwondo, achieving his first Black Belt in 1988. Shortly afterwards, he decided to learn another martial art, American Kenpo, in which he achieved Black Belt status in 1994. Throughout the years Allen has continued to train in several other arts, in effort to improve his overall martial arts skills and teaching abilities.
In 1997, after achieving several awards competing in Sport Karate, Allen took his first NASKA World and National Title, as the #1 Overall American Forms competitor of the year. In addition, he won several individual weapons and sparring events between 1994 and 2001. One of Allen's most memorable achievements was being chosen to play a lead character (Liu Kang) in the Mortal Kombat Live Tour. He toured all around the United States, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Dublin, Ireland.
