7th Day is an interesting and violent film that is pure microbudget Indie in its production quality. The subject matter works well with the grit though so the whole package is consistent and appropriate. The acting performances are all pretty good the supporting characters Dave (Josh Davidson) and love interest Mandy (Jennifer Juniper) are pretty rough around the edges but that adds to the vision of the world held by Allen that people are disgusting and ugly. Lead psychokiller Mark S. Sanders is pretty rough too but considering the depraved character hes portraying his performance borders on brilliance. The real test with this guy is to see some of the other films hes done to see how different he may be.

Castle and Beckett finally got their romantic vacation in "Murder He Wrote." If you consider the appearance of a dead body in the pool while you're naked to be romantic, that is.
In this edition of the TV Fanatic Round Table, staff writers Carla Day, Chandel Charles, Jim Garner and Christine Orlando are joined by Castle fan Angie from The 12th Fan Forum to try and figure out why Ryan's keeping mum and who was Beckett's best boyfriend... besides Castle, of course.

What was your favorite scene?
Angie: I was blown away by this episode and loved every minute of it. There were so many important and memorable moments, not the least of which was the wonderfully seductive final scene, which was so worth waiting for. But in terms of sheer impact, Ryan's interrogation scene is hard to top. That was so well set up and executed, and Ryan's...

After four years spent wondering will-they-or-won’t-they, Castle’s fantastic fourth season finale in May finally gave fans the answer they have been clamoring for! Now the only question remaining is what happens next? Will Castle and Beckett having officially consummated their relationship effect the hit ABC series going forward and more importantly will the show ever be the same? We recently caught up with one half of the show’s dynamic duo to find out just that. What follows, is a candid conversation with star Stana Katic who offers up her take on how coupledom will effect the show and what fans might expect from a more flirty and fun Kate Beckett.
How far in advance leading up to last season’s finale were you aware that the show was finally going to take Castle and Beckett you-know-where?!
Stana Katic: Probably towards the last quarter of last season,...

Title: Ultrasonic Director: Rohit Colin Rao Starring: Silas Gordon Brigham, Sam Repshas, Cate Buscher, Nathan Walker, Ricardo Kingsbury, Josh Davidson, Regan Wilson Modern-day American independent filmmaking, in such large measure, apes Hollywood product — or, alternately, movies made during the last great frontier boom of indie cinema, in the 1990s — in large part because the (perceived) reward seems to be informing the process. The increased democratization of film comes at the same time as a slew of TV reality show contests where “winners” are ushered inside the palace, and given a shot at all their professional and personal dreams. Perhaps perversely, this seems to have seeped into the national [ Read More ]...

We are still a little over a month away from the season 4 premiere of ABC's hit show Castle, but the Alphabet Network is already reminding us to tune in on September 19th. A new promo aired earlier tonight during The Bachelor Pad . While fans are happy to see a new promo of their favorite show on TV again, the clip doesn't reveal any new footage. Unless you count the one released during Comic-Con, where we got to see the very first scene of season 4.
(If you haven't seen it, please do yourself a favor and click here)
It is pretty much a given that the first hour of season 4 - entitled "Rise" - will be very intense and emotional. The events that took place during the season 3 finale, "Knockout", have raised the stakes and I am willing to bet that things will only escalate from there. Captain Montgomery turned out to be a traitor,...

This week sees a ton of genre movies coming out on DVD and Blu- Ray. The biggest being Predators, followed up by the remake of the cult classic Night of the Demons, a sequel to Mirrors, and Anniversary editions for Rocky Horror Picture Show and Psycho. Add to that a slew of indie and classic horror and there is a lot to choose from.
Predators
Directed by Nimród Antal
Robert Rodriguez presents Predators, a bold new chapter in the Predator universe. Adrien Brody stars as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors mysteriously brought together on a jungle planet. But when these cold-blooded human “predators” find themselves in all-out war against a new breed of alien Predators, it’s the ultimate showdown between hunter and prey. Predators also star Laurence Fishburne, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Walton Goggins, Danny Trejo, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, Oleg Taktarov, and Louis Ozawa Changchien.

The number of home video releases on October 19th is not as abundant as in recent weeks, and fewer re-released titles means those that are available are much more special. In this batch one Adrien Brody flick competes with another, and at least two independent horror titles are making a splash. Two beloved classic films return in Blu-ray where one is supplemented by a documentary treatment of it.
Also, don't forget to strum & drum out with some tunes from Rob Zombie on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Finally, foreign horror gives us an over-the-top Japanese gorefest, a British zombie flick where the $70 budget was spent on tea and biscuits for the zombies, and Norwegian black metal.

A press release came across our desks today that reminded us how often truth is stranger than fiction. Here we were thinking the war between HD DVD and Blu-ray had been decided months ago when WetNWildRadio Films and Anthem Pictures announced that on October 27th the independent zombie horror film Deadlands 2: Trapped will be making its way to ... HD DVD. Kind of ironic that a zombie film would be helping HD DVD try to come back from the dead, no?
When asked why he was releasing the film in this defunct format, Deadlands 2 writer/director Gary Ugarek, an avid HD DVD collector, had this to say:
"Over the last 18 months, since HD DVD's demise, I and a small group of HD DVD enthusiasts have scoured every part of the planet trying to obtain the leftover releases of HD DVD material. We were early adopters of the format and...

The trailer looks pretty good and I find the concept fascinating. It’s a fresh new story from the genre that I haven’t really seen before and I’m looking forward to seeing how it pans out. The film is currently in post-production.
