Joseph Michael Catalfano is a teacher, director, and self-described
"freelance thinker" whose other talents include playwriting, filmmaking
and photography. Originally from Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, Joseph spent
the better part of his adolescence either absorbed in novels or sitting
in the seats of darkened movie theaters. After finishing an
undergraduate degree in English, Theatre, and Creative Writing at
Ursinus College in Pennsylvania, he went on to earn both a Master's
Degree in Theatre at Villanova University as well as a Master of Fine
Arts Degree in Film at Boston University. He finished writing a
full-length play entitled Developing in a Darkroom for his theatre
degree, a scene from which was later published in an anthology of best
two-person scenes for actors. At Boston University, he made a few short
films as well as wrote the award-winning script for the pilot of "Res.
Life", a sitcom produced by students at Boston University and broadcast
on MTV-U. He now teaches English, film, and theater in the suburbs of
Boston, MA.
