The honor — named after a well-known saying in 12-step groups — is doled out annually “to an individual who has written a memoir about their career and brutally honest journey from addiction to clean and sober living.”
Last year’s recipient, Ktla anchor, Courtney Friel, will present to Trejo. Also on the program are host Ed Begley Jr., headlining comedian Paula Poundstone, performer Philip Lawrence, presenter Joanna Cassidy and actor James Black who will deliver a spoken word performance. Tony Denison, star of TNT’s Major Crimes, will present the annual Reel Recovery Film Festival’s audience favorite award for Fruckus to filmmaker Evan York.

Former Fox News reporter and current Ktla-tv anchor Courtney Friel has set up a biopic with Zero Gravity Management, Variety has learned exclusively.
Zero Gravity has optioned the rights to Friel’s memoir “Tonight At 10: Kicking Booze and Breaking News” for its Inspire division. The book details her ascent in the news business, including getting hired in 2007 at the age of 26 by Fox News as a national correspondent and dealing with alcohol and drug addiction.
“Zero Gravity looks forward to developing Courtney’s story into a feature film,” said Andriana Williams, head of development for the Inspire division. “Our Inspire division champions stories that uphold the triumph of the human spirit and Courtney’s journey aligns perfectly with this. Her story is both comedic while also being sensitive to those struggling with addiction. The contrast of being a straight-laced Fox reporter and a party girl is also something ripe...

Ktla Anchor Courtney Friel, Who Included Trump Claim In New Memoir, Will Return To Air, Nexstar Says
Nexstar said that anchor-reporter Courtney Friel will return to air on its Ktla-tv station in Los Angeles on January 18, after a tour for her new memoir that includes a claim that Donald Trump propositioned her a decade ago, when she was working for Fox News.
There had been some questions about her presence on the channel in the publicity that is surrounding her book.
The Daily Beast reported on Thursday that after the Trump revelation came to light in a New York Daily News story last week, she did not appear in her regularly scheduled spot as weekend anchor at the station on Saturday or Sunday. A spokesman, Steve Honig, told Deadline she was scheduled to start her travels for her book tour on Monday, and that she was due back on January 18. He declined further comment.

A high-profile weekend anchor at Ktla was notably absent from the air Saturday and Sunday after the New York Daily News featured an excerpt from her new book that claims that prior to becoming the president, Donald Trump once propositioned her.
Former Fox News reporter Courtney Friel was scheduled for a vacation around her book tour beginning Monday, her publicist told TheWrap, but she did not appear for any of her regular weekend shifts on Saturday or Sunday.
Her camp isn’t responding beyond its initial statement, but according to the Daily Beast, Friel told a paparazzo on Saturday that he would need to ask Ktla about her absence from the air that day, then expressed her desire not to be fired.
“I love my job,” she said, according to the Daily Beast.

Same, kid. Same. Summer is ending, officially. Kids are going back to school and the carefree months of sun, sleeping in and Instagram shots of your legs while lying on the beach are all but a distant memory. And if anyone can adequately sum up everyone's feelings about the death of summer, it's this guy. When Ktla reporter Courtney Friel asked 4-year-old Andrew Macias if he was excited for his first day of kindergarten, she got a pretty enthusiastic "yes" from the little boy who was just starting out at City Terrace Elementary School. But when she asked him if he was going to miss his mom, the wheels really started falling off. Either the kid is going to say "no" and break his...

Jon Bon Jovi is speaking out for the first time since his 19-year-old daughter overdosed on heroin and was arrested for possession -- charges that were later dropped.
The 50-year-old rocker spoke with Fox 11, telling Courtney Friel, "What I do for a living seems glitzy and glamorous but if you don't take it too seriously it's a great way to make a living," he said. "And then life goes on. Things happen."
His daughter, Stephanie Bongiovi -- a student at Hamilton College -- is recovering from the overdose, but the singer says it's something he knows his family will be able to face together.
"This tragedy was something that I had to face too so we'll get through it. And people's warm wishes for my family and I have been really reassuring. So, we're good," he told Fox 11.
Stephanie is the eldest of four children the singer has with wife Dorothea Hurley.

I don't watch a lot of Fox news, so I took it on faith that the Jane Krakowski Fox News crack -- "Welcome to Fox News. I'm Blonde" -- was an accurate satirical jab. But I looked it up this morning, because that's the sort of thing I do. There are a lot of Fox female anchors, and many of them have the same hair color. Here are ten (and there are more).
Do you think they have a type? Because as I was entering these images into the system, I had to double and triple check to make sure that some of these women weren't the same person with different names.

Fox News' Courtney Friel was at the Grand Ole Opry this weekend and found herself interviewing country music star Trace Adkins about politics, culture, and of course, the size of her ass. Yes, after hearing Mr. Adkins opine on the political plans of Donald Trump (!), the former Maxim model who is seven-months pregnant naturally segued into asking what the music star thought of her "bedunkadunk." Yes, that really happened and we have the bizarre video to prove it.
