As Head of TriStar Television, Busby identifies content that aligns with the creative vision of the prestige, IP driven Sony Pictures Television division and guides the continued growth of each series. She oversees development and programming while working to refine TriStar's content strategy.
Previously, As Senior Vice President of Development for Sony Pictures Television Networks, Busby initiated, drove and oversaw the sourcing, development and production of ABSENTIA. Initially commissioned by Sony's AXN Networks, the critically-acclaimed series has been sold around the world, including a three season sale to Amazon. The success of ABSENTIA pioneered a new model of low-cost/high-value production, working with emerging local talent to create English-language global dramas, christened as Gemstone Studios.
Before joining Sony, Busby was Vice President of Original Programming for TBS.
Before TBS, Busby was Senior Vice President of Production at New Line Cinema. Busby was an Executive Producer of the first Sex And The City movie, which grossed $415,000,000 worldwide.
Busby also directed and produced the comedy short Max and Josh, which premiered at The Sundance Film Festival.
Busby serves on the Board of Directors for PACE (Philanthropy and Community Engagement). She received her BA from Harvard College and resides with her family in Los Angeles.
