- Was the Most Valuable Player of the 1997 Super Bowl in which his squad, the Green Bay Packers beat the New England Patriots 35-21 for their first Super Bowl title since 1968. The first special teams player to achieve that honor, Desmond piled up 244 total yards in that game, including a record-setting 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
