A new episode of the Awfully Good Horror Movies video series has just been released, and with director Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus now in theatres, we have decided to celebrate by taking a look back at one of the least popular entries in the Alien franchise, the crossover sequel Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (watch it Here). You can hear all about it in the video embedded above!
Directed by the Brothers Strause from a screenplay by Shane Salerno, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem has the following synopsis: Residents of Gunnison, Colorado, are caught up in the crossfire when two deadly extraterrestrial species bring their longstanding conflict to Earth. On the one side, nearly indestructible Aliens; on the other, a lone Predator whose mission is to wipe out all traces of the Alien infestation from Earth, no matter who gets in the way.

Little did Imani (Krystal Joy Brown) know how much her life was going to change just by being stranded in the diner in which she works due to a snowstorm in Heaven Down Here. With her were her boss Dan (Richard Harmon), local pastor Felix (Juan Riedinger), and, most importantly, hospice nurse Clara (Tina Lifford), who went on to introduce her to someone who would change her and her children’s lives. Imani noticed that Clara had a photo of her as a baby (and the birthmark to prove it’s her), and the other woman asked what she knew about her adoption. “My parents never gave me much information. When I got older, I pushed, but they weren’t forthcoming. I figured it was something ugly like I was abandoned, so I didn’t press.” Clara revealed that she knew who her grandmother is: her employer Nancy (Phylicia Rashad), whose daughter — Imani’s mother,...

Krystal Joy Brown leads what’s easily one of the best and most heartwarming Hallmark movies this holiday season, Heaven Down Here. The film, which premieres on December 14 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, is inspired by Mickey Guyton‘s song of the same name. it tells the story of four people who find themselves stranded in a local diner on Christmas Eve when a snowstorm hits: Imani (Brown), a widowed mother of two having trouble making ends meet and stuck working the holiday shift; her boss Dan (Richard Harmon), who doesn’t embody the Christmas spirit; Felix (Juan Riedinger), a local pastor whose faith is challenged by his alienation by his son; and Clara (Tina Lifford), a hospice nurse with an obstinate patient (Phylicia Rashad) and whose daughter is moving away. Brown previews what makes this movie different from any other you’ll watch this year. (It’s not about the romance.

Christmas Eve at Rocko’s Diner in Philadelphia finds a menu short on holiday spirit for four struggling strangers stuck during a snowstorm. Heaven Down Here is inspired by the 2020 country hit of the same name by Mickey Guyton, who executive produces the Hallmark movie and, says fellow executive producer Laurie Pozmantier, “gave us tidbits into her personal life and her husband’s personal life [for the story].” Those tales include worried widow Imani (Krystal Joy Brown), a broke waitress separated from her two children when grumpy boss Dan (Richard Harmon) forces her to work the holiday. During the night, Imani bonds with earnest diner Father Felix (Juan Riedinger), who has regrets involving his estranged adult son. “You don’t usually look at a pastor thinking that they’ve got something going on, but [Felix] needs advice too,” Pozmantier says. Also stranded is determined hospice nurse Clara (Tina Lifford), who longs to help obstinate...

Riverdale Season 4 Episode 3
"There is so single way to tell a story."
Indeed. The most consistent thing over the first 60 episodes of Riverdale is just how inconsistent of a show it is. At times, it's a wildly subversive guilty pleasure. Other times, such as in the case of last week's series low, it frustratingly unravels everything that has been established about these characters to date in order to set up a mystery that may or may not pay off down the line.
We know that Jughead will ultimately survive the challenges that lie ahead, so as viewers we collectively hope that the journey that he and the show's other characters take this season will be worthwhile regardless. Now that the death of...

We’ve got a sneak peek at Riverdale‘s first-ever Halloween episode (airing Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 8/7c on The CW), and Archie and his new pal Mad Dog — sorry, Munroe — are getting into the spooky spirit by dressing up as superheroes. A new season of Riverdale is almost upon us, which means it’s time for yet another shady adult to develop a creepy interest in noted teen Archie Andrews. Archie Andrews can't seem to catch a break.
The red-headed teenager will lock horns with a new villain on Riverdale Season 4, according to Deadline.
Canadian actor Juan Riedinger has landed the recurring role of Dodger.
Aside from the fact that the two characters will be going head-to-head, no other details have been revealed.
However, it's likely that Dodger will have a connection to Hiram Lodge, who was sent to jail after Riverdale Season 3 following his extensive list of crimes coming back to haunt him.

Hiram was pulling strings in Riverdale before he even got out of prison the first time, and given that Archie is his enemy, it wouldn't be Hiram to roll over and allow the teenager to win.
If you watch Riverdale online, you know that Archie has made several mistakes and will likely continue to do so.

The network previously announced that the first episode of the new season will be a tribute to late actor Luke Perry, who played Archie’s father, Fred Andrews. Perry’s “Beverly Hills 90210” co-star Shannen Doherty will make an appearance on the tribute episode.

2017 has been a strong year for horror—indie or otherwise—which means it has been tough keeping up with everything that has been released over the last eight-plus months. Here are my thoughts on a pair of films that I recently had the opportunity to watch, Michael Walker’s meta slasher Cut Shoot Kill and the zombie-themed It Stains the Sands Red from Colin Minihan.
Cut Shoot Kill: The biggest thing I look for whenever I go into any movie is whether or not the director at hand has any surprises in store for me as a viewer. And while Cut Shoot Kill may not seem all that revolutionary upon first glance, I must tip my hat to writer/director Walker, who did an admirable job subverting my expectations with his “movie within a movie,” often finding clever ways to blur the lines between fact and fiction for his ambitious story.

Colin Minihan (Grave Encounters) and Stuart Ortiz try to breath some life into the zombie sub-genre, with this title. However, the long zombie chase in the desert gets a bit tiresome and repetitive, after awhile. The film's tone is overly sad. Meanwhile, there are almost no redeemable characters on-screen, outside of central character Molly (Brittany Allen). Even Molly has a long list of vices. A bit slow, It Stains the Sands Red offers minimal conflict and action, as well. It is not all bad. But, It Stains the Sands Red will entertain only the most patient zombie film fans. The film begins with one of the film's only wide shots.

Last year saw the astonishing Train to Busan and The Girl With All The Gifts take the zombie sub-genre into exciting new territories. Now writer/ director Colin Minihan (Grave Encounters, Extraterrestrial) and co-writer Stuart Ortiz, push the envelope further with a progressive horror that’s equally exhilarating as it is emotional and most importantly fun. As well as being loaded with imperative blood, guts and terror, Istsr is also shockingly poignant, with a straight-forward narrative. It’s an off-beat zombie flick unlike any other for Istsr is also a chase/ road movie, crime/ drug thriller, love story, comedy and family drama as well as perceptibly a horror. Its closest comparison point would be Maggie, but where the Schwarzenegger drama was an irrefutable slow burner, Istsr is elating and with a plethora of horror cogs to ensure it works as something new for genre fans as well as general audiences.

Ahead of the UK premiere of his latest film It Stains The Sands Red at Horror Channel FrightFest Glasgow, Colin Minihan (pictured below with star Brittany Allen) chats about the creation of his ‘zombie love story’, the challenges of shooting in Death Valley and his new movie Still/Born.
Are The Vicious Brothers still an entity? You’ve only co-directed Grave Encounters under that moniker – Extraterrestrial and It Stains The Sands Red carry your separate credits. That’s the way you want it from now on?
Our roles were just less defined when we made Grave Encounters because we were both very young. If we make a film together and feel like it’s a Vicious Brothers film, then I think we’d use it again…But then again there are far too many “brothers” right now – it starts to feel a bit gimmicky.
