In June 1998, Daniel Chen moved from his homeland Taiwan to the United
States in pursuit of his passion for film making. Arriving in Los
Angeles, the film making capital of the world, Daniel attended Columbia
College where he obtained a BA in Cinema Studies. He majored in
Directing and also studied Cinematography extensively in and outside of
the classroom. Following his graduation he furthered his education at
UCLA where he studied producing.
In 2006, Daniel took over as President of Rouge Productions, a company
he co-founded, and formed a collaborative partnership with Just Cause
Productions, a multimedia production company with extensive motion
capture experience. Daniel used this chance to learn the ins and outs
of motion capture technology and computer animation and exposed himself
to cutting edge technology that is standard on most feature Hollywood
productions and also all video games. Now knowing both the traditional
and contemporary methods of filmmaking he prepares for a career in film
production that will utilize all necessary tools to realize the visions
of the auteurs with whom he collaborates.
