Northgate Pictures have released the official trailer (which is embedded below, along with the poster from SadistArt Designs and four still) from Easter Sunday, which stars the late Robert Z’Dar (Manaic Cop), who passed away earlier this year. The film will be dedicated in his memory.
A throwback to the campy and gory slashers of the ’80s, Easter Sunday is written and directed by Jeremy Todd Morehead. Along with Z’Dar and Morehead, the cast includes Ari Lehman (Friday the 13th), Edward X. Young (Mr. Hush) and Shawn C. Phillips (Ghost Shark).
It has been 24 years since the deranged serial killer Douglas Fisher was executed by police on Easter night. This year, a group of hard-partying teenagers not only raise some hell, but literally raise the dead! The teens accidentally conjure the spirit of Douglas Fisher… Aka the bunny masked killer! These teens have until midnight on Easter to stop the evil bunny slasher,...

I don’t want to reveal my hand to early on this one, but then again you guys probably know by now that I don’t rip into any film to tear it to shreds. Typically, it’s for two reasons. I see what they were trying to do with a limited budget. The heart is there, but the money ain’t. Also, I’ve had to double back on my opinions of films on the first watch. Hating it in the beginning, and then seeing something or things on another viewing that shows me that I had a gross error in judgment. Well, “Mr. Hush” puts me into a purgatory of indecision.

Some trailers focus on grossing you out. The bloody mouths, the stumped limbs, the overall yuck factor of it all. Some trailers focus on sexual deviancy, up-skirt shots, copulating with members of the clergy or fornicating behind a butcher's counter. The ambitious filmmakers behind Psycho Street decided to just go on ahead and throw it all into one pretty extreme trailer. Wow.
Psycho Street is a three-part anthology film starring Tiffany Shepis as the best looking version of the Crypt Keeper we've ever seen, welcoming you to the twisted town of Kronanburg where things ... well, things tend to get fucked up. And even though the film has already been picked up by R-Squared for a 2012 release, we thought you'd like to be the first on your block to take an early look at this intriguing Nsfw (that's Not Safe For Work for you cubicle jockeys prowling the internet on company time) trailer.

Think back to the early 1980's. Think back to director Frank Henenlotter. Think back to a little film known as Basket Case. While clearly not a film for all tastes including mine, the film definitely had cult classic written all over it. Now enter director Neil Meschino of the film Mold!. While Mold!, starring Edward X. Young, Ardis Campbell, Robert Fattorini, Chris Gentile, Lawrence George, Rick Haymes, Mike Keller and director Neil Meschino, isn't as boundary pushing as Basket Case, it captures the same spirit, the same tone as Basket Case. Working in the film's favor is the fact that it is more commercial and accessible then Basket Case, yet it is its own unique film. It's different. It has edge. It has something to it. Could director Neil Meschino have a possible cult classic on his hands? Only time will tell, but just in case Mold! does reach that...

Actor/producer Marv Blauvelt sent over some on-set photos (see ’em below) from “Come on Down,” the wraparound story for the currently lensing independent horror anthology Psycho Street. He also gave us the first look at a trailer for the movie’s over-the-top comedic segment “Hypochondriac,” which you can see at the bottom of the page.
Busy scream starlets Tiffany Shepis and Raine Brown star in “Come on Down” alongside Austin Dossey, Kirk Chastain and Jason Hignite for director Arthur Cullipher. The setting is the town of Kronanburg, and Blauvelt provides a synopsis: “When newcomer to town Aubrie Harris [Brown] sends her husband Casey [Dossey] next door to borrow tools and he doesn’t return, she becomes concerned and decides to visit her new neighbor in hopes of finding Casey’s whereabouts. Back in 2008 we told you about the indy horror film titled, The Green Monster, and now we have the official trailer. Check it out below and let us know your thoughts. The Green Monster is a return to 80’s style slashers in the vein of Motel Hell and Blood Diner. It tells the story of Gerald (Edward X. Young) and Molly (Colleen Cohan), husband and wife owners of a downtrodden convenience store who employ equal parts dark magic and down home cooking to attract the reckless teenagers who like to use their business as a haven for illegal activities. When some local teens go missing, all signs point to the couple’s uniquely Southern recipes and the dumpster out back overflowing with dead bodies!

Fango got word of a new horror anthology project combining the talents of a number of independent East Coast horror filmmakers and actors. Titled Psycho Street, it’s a collaboration between Dark Ryder Filmworks and Rainey Daze Productions, along with a trio of other indie production companies.
Rainey Daze’s Raine Brown (first photo) will appear in all four segments, with the scripts written by Marv Blauvelt (second photo) and Trevor Wright of the upcoming Sculpture. Scripter Trevor Wright gave Fango a couple of exclusive pics (see ’em below) from The Green Monster, a new indie chiller he wrote and co-produced. Bryan Roberts and Nolan Bell directed the Untold Horror/Screamkings Productions movie.
“The Green Monster is my first solo screenwriting feature, following my co-writing work on Pete Jacelone’s Sculpture,” Wright tells us. “It originally began as a short film. I wanted to explore the problem of young women who give birth and then throw their babies away. Bryan and Nolan over at Untold Horror got their hands on the script and wanted to expand it into a feature, but that was something I really had no interest in doing. I felt that it functioned well as a short piece, and didn’t want to make an hour and a half of depressing social commentary.”
Instead, that brief screenplay became the feature’s opening sequence,...
